-London, England.

 Manchester Airport.

She was expecting to find herself in the busy streets of London but no, her father decided to send her off to Cheshire instead. That’s what you get for not reading the details on the tickets properly. Thank goodness the weather here isn’t awful, or she’ll have to find some kind of way to survive around here with only long sleeved clothes.

Lanna twirled her long blond hair around, trying to find a way to make time go faster. Her luggage wasn’t here yet, and she sure as hell ain’t gonna go up front and squeeze. She waited there, crossing her long slender legs beside one luggage that she already had.

About thirty minutes later, she could see her luggage as it arrives. She lunged forward and grabbed it, trying hard not to push people out of the way, and successfully grabbed it. Not bad for a new day in a new place.

Lanna continued walking, procedure by procedure, until she could see the gates leading towards the huge amount of people waiting. She has no clue as to who is fetching her and so far, judging by what her father has in mind, it is by no doubt that it will be an enormous surprise. She walked out while looking around, trying to find her name in one of those boards.

And she found it.

Lanna Phoenix Young.

A clear big blue board with black block capital letters on it. She looked closely to see who was holding it to find…a woman.

Okay, this was unexpected. Heck, very unexpected. Seriously? Why would she do business, with an woman that dresses like Molly Weasley from Harry Potter? Moreover her father? What was he thinking?

Nevertheless, she walked over towards the woman, who was for some reason, still looking for her. She walked in front and blocked her point of view, trying to get her attention but was instead greeted with a slap on her waist to move aside.

“Excuse me miss, can’t you see that I’m trying to look for someone here?”

The woman had a warm and serene voice, not like one who was rushing to find someone. And Lanna would guess that she is in her forties. Lanna was about a half a head taller than she is, blame it on her father’s genes, she didn’t ask to be born this tall.

“I am Lanna Phoenix Young, madam.” she said. This caught the woman’s attention and she started looking at her in the strangest way, one that Lanna has never seen. She had brown eyes, and although Lanna was not one to look a lot into people’s eyes, they tend to make her feel guilty, she doesn’t even know the answer to why is that, it just does.

The woman blinked a few times and placed the board by her side. “Sorry, I didn’t expect you to…look like this.” Her eyes scanned Lanna’s body and went straight back to her face almost immediately. “You may call me Anne. You’ll be staying with me from now on. Well, there is my family too, of course.”

Lanna’s jaw dropped wide open.

Live in London, with a random stranger woman, and her family, all by herself? This isn’t making any sense!

“Can you excuse me for a moment?” Lanna asked, trying not to sound too nervous.

“Oh yeah sure, I’ll be waiting outside, it’s awfully crowded here.” She gave a pat on her back and walked towards the door.

Lanna watched as she left and whipped out her phone the second Anne stepped out.

“Hello? Father?”

“Why was I expecting this?”

“How could you dump me with a foreign family? I was trying to be optimistic about this but you leave me no choice, I’ll hop on the next flight back home.”

“You’ll do nothing of the sort. You will stay there and obey my orders!”

“I don’t see how this has to do with business, and also did I forget to mention that you gave me a gun? You want me to shoot that poor innocent woman, who by the way, has a family?” Lanna was beyond enraged by now and she just had to give her father a piece of her mind.

“It’s not the family you should worry about, Lanna love. Everything I do, is for a reason. Now get back there and go with the flow before I send over Tyler to check up on you.” And the phone line went dead. She grumbled and stuffed her new phone into her pocket. This has got to be her third phone this month and she most definitely do not want to ruin it again, getting new contacts are a huge hassle.

She ran towards the doors and stepped into the car that she saw Anne go into. It was comfy, for a Mercedes. And their car journey started even if Lanna was unsure where they were going.

After 5 minutes into the journey, Anne spoke up. “We’ll be staying at my house in Holmes Chapel, don’t worry dear it’s not a real chapel. I don’t look like a nun to you, now do I? Relax, our family is going to treat you wonderfully!”

Please this is not happening. Her father sent her to a mental hospital? Filled with nuns? “There must be some kind of mistake. I shouldn’t have got in the car. I need…proof.”

“Anything dear, for your peace of mind.” Now where has she heard that before?

“Whatever you say for your peace of mind…” There was a brown haired boy. He had astonishing green eyes, now that Lanna remembers it.

She shook out of her thoughts and continued to reply. “What’s my father’s name?” There, simple enough. She can’t go for the ones that are too hard or else this business would make no sense. Not a lot of people can relate to her father, his business is to be kept as a secret and only his clients woud know his name. Privacy at it's best indeed.

“Michael Kingsley Young. He sent you here to do business, did he not?”

“Um, why yes, he…did.” Lanna let out a sigh of relief and leaned back on the seat. Perhaps she was just getting a little too paranoid about this. Things will get better, she’s sure of it.

“If you have no more questions,” Anne looked out to the window as she spoke, a smile evident on her face. “Let me start introducing you to the place you’ll be staying at for the next few weeks.”
