It was around 2 in the afternoon, the sky was the perfect shade of blue, and it wasn't hot or too cold out. Truly a perfect day, some would say. We've not had a day like this in a while so it's best to savor it while it lasts. Dragging my suitcase behind me, I began to power walk to the train station. Cursing at myself for not taking a taxi because I'm trying to save money. My feets beginning to hurt, that's fine I guess. It's probably because I haven't been training in a while...
After another long while of walking, my mind began to plague with thoughts of the uncertainty of the future. Specifically, the ones that will happen in the camp. 'It might be nothing, but at the same time, I could be entirely wrong. If I'm wrong and I'm just paranoid ever since you know... However, if my paranoia is right though, I don't want to even think about it. ' I shuddered at my horrid thoughts. Shaking my head to clear my mind, I grasped tightly at my suitcase and walked forward with more confidence.
"Hey, (Y/n)! Get over here! It's been so long!" Mina screamed, tackling me into a bear hug from behind.
"Mina-chan~ It's only been a week since we've last seen each other!" Surprised at her sudden hug, I almost fell over but ended up laughing off her usual over-enthusiastic self
Turning to face her, I hugged her back equally as tight as she had done to me, "Yeah, but it feels so so so weird to not be living in the dorms! I can't believe your room isn't next to mine anymore! Now I can't see your adorable bed hair in the morning every day!" Whining, she let out fake tears fall from her face.
"Gah!" I choked out when she hugged me even tighter.
"Ashido-san, your choking (Y/n). Could you please loosen your grip on her?" Shoto interrupted, concerned and worried, littering his pretty face.
Letting go of me immediately, she began to sputter out many apologies, "Ah- Oh my God! I'm so sorry! I didn't know! Sorry!"
"It's fine! You don't need to apologize!" I waved my hands at her, showing her that it wasn't a big deal.
"Well if you say so~!" She let out a relieved sigh, "Now then, I'll catch you guys later on the train, I gotta find the other Bakusquad members! We're going to be sitting in the same compartment, right?"
"Actually-" Shoto cut me off before I could even finish.
"We promised each other we'd be sitting next to each other the whole way. That's fine with you right, Ashido-san?" Wrapping his left arm around my waist, he spoke calmly and monotonously.
"That's alright with me of course, Todoroki-kun! Don't need to worry about it! I'll even tell Bakugo to leave you guys alone so that you can have your privacy!" She wiggled her eyebrows at us suggestively, "Don't forget to give me all the juicy details later, (N/n)-chan!" Shoto deadpanned on that comment in confusion.
"M-MINA!!! We aren't going to do anything of that sort!" Hiding away my face from her line of sight I blushed heavily.
"Righttt~" She dragged out her words, "Oh, and by the way, drop the -san, Todoroki. We've been classmates and friends for over a year now." She beamed
"Okay." Shoto stated plainly
"Well then I'll take my leave, I think I saw Eijiro heading that way!" She pointed in a random direction and then bolted off.Shoto looked at me weirdly as if silently telling me that he was weirded out at just what happened. Laughing at him, I pushed off his arm around my waist and grasped his hand. Dragging my trolley luggage behind me with my left hand, the duffle bag filled to the brim with useful stuff plopped on top of it carelessly. Sighing in content at the feeling of Shoto's hand intertwined affectionately on my own, I took a good look at him. His face was unreadable as always, almost emotionless. Despite having an emotionless face, if you looked deeply into his eyes, you could see what he was truly feeling.
Silence ruled again between us as it usually did. Then my cursed mind began to dive back into my horrid thoughts. If I'm being honest, for the past few days these thoughts have been bothering me. Making me sleep later than usual, though despite that no dark circles have appeared under my eyes as I've also been catching up on the sleepless night's school had given to me. No matter how much I tried to push away my paranoia and thoughts, it just wouldn't go away.
