Chapter 5 : Don't Believe In Lies

The morning contrasted with the one of yesterday. Yesterday was beautiful, perfect even, but today. The clouds were a dark shade of grey that covered the sky and the sun was nowhere to be seen or heard from.

The heavy and powerful splashes of water that came pouring from above could be heard everywhere. Even asleep, the girls from class 1-A couldn't help but shiver and pull their blankets up higher in an attempt to protect themselves from the relentless rain.

Jolting awake to the roars of the lightning and thunders that came with the rain. A startled gasp was let out. I took in heavy breaths and tried to calm myself down, my beating heart was frantic and I could feel the cold sweat dripping down both my forehead and back. Wiping them off I put a hand to my heart, concentrating on it and tuning out all of the sounds around me, finally managing to control my breathing.

Taking a look around the room, everyone was fast asleep, having good dreams I presume due to the slight smiles on their faces, or maybe it's because they were relaxed knowing that school is over, even if only for a few months.

Moments like these were rare and fleeting these days. Smiling in contentment at the sight of them, reminded me of back when we still lived in the dorms. I threw the blanket off of me and climbed down from my bunk, grabbing my phone that was charging with all the other phones, I turned it on and checked the time.

"5:36 AM, damn it's way too early to be up." I huffed out in irritation.

Yet I can't find any trace of being tired and wanting to go back to sleep. We were supposed to gather at the main building for breakfast at 8 AM sharp, so instead of being lazy, I decided to grab my things and take a long and relaxing hot shower before any of the other girls could wake up and we start fighting over who'll be using the shower first.

You'd think there would be multiple showers in the cabin but no, there's only one and last night let's just say we fought a lot about who'd use it first. Tsuyu-chan ended up being the first one to use it, which sucks for the rest of us.

The bathroom wasn't luxurious or anything, just the standard bathroom you'd expect from a summer camp. 'At least they got that one right.' I jokingly thought. After taking a bath and changing into my clothes for today. I wore casual denim shorts with the camp shirt that the school provided and over that I wore an oversized hoodie that I stole from Shoto months prior, without his knowledge, of course.

Digging through my luggage even further, I finally found my umbrella and the cap that I borrowed from Shoto yesterday. Ironically, the umbrella had a clear and, red pattern all over it, the design of the umbrella was the umbrella corporation logo. I find it ironic having this because well, I think you all get the hint that I hate that fucking messed up corporation.

Taking another look at my phone, I checked the time, 6:05 AM. Still too early to be up, best to do something more productive than doing nothing. Outside the cabin, the rain was still pouring down cats and dogs. 'I regret not packing more warmer clothes.' I groaned, cursing myself for thinking that it'd be hot and sunny the whole time during the trip.

Grabbing my earphones from my pocket, frustrated that they became tangled up. Doing what must be done, I plugged them back into my phone, playing a random song then walked out of the cabin. But of course, luck wasn't on my side and my hopes of having a peaceful morning were all torn down the drain.

"Where do you think you're going?" Mina dragged me back into the cabin.
"To explore." I scoffed, raising my eyebrow at her.
Mocking me by scoffing back, she began to pull out her hoodie from her bag, "Without me?"
"I couldn't sleep and you were. Didn't feel like waking you up." In response, she gave me a tired smile, "C'mon, go back to smiling. You look so tired, I'll show you around the camp later when you're more awake." Before she could argue back, I looked at her with a warning look.
"O-Oh." She gulped dryly, "If you insist." She plopped back onto her bed quickly.
