Introduction

Imagine having your soulmate picked out based on your zodiacs. Yes, I am talking about the month signs like Aries, Capricorn, Libra, Scorpio. A perfect blend for a harmonic household to create more children and obedience. Everyone has a zodiac sign and it seemed easily enough for us to be paired with our ideal partner.

My name is Elyse. I am a L or a Libra. I was born October 5th. My father, Arlo, who is a Cancer and my mother, Lorelei, a Scorpio. These two were matched together and told they would be an ideal pairing. They live a simple life with me and my sibling who is coming soon, within the next couple months.

See, how it begun was the creators of this system started out by finding each ideal pairing. Since there are twelve Zodiacs that means the system created 6 pairs. Like my parents, Cancer and Scorpio are the idealist pairing. The other 5 pairings included: Pieces and Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, Aries and Leo, Aquarius and Gemini, and Libra and Sagittarius.

We must follow the idealistic pairings or we will be kicked out of our harmonic society. At the age of 15 we are told who our idealistic zodiac sign pairing would be and from then on we will have chaperoned meetings with one sign of our idealistic pairing a year until we turn 21. Once we turn twenty one, we are told who is to be our partner based on who the chaperones felt fit our interests and personalities. Our parents cannot be involved in the process, but they are welcomed to watch our meets.

Through these meetings, each of us met seven possible matches. On our 22nd birthday, we begin courting our match and anywhere from the ages of 23-25 we marry our match.

That may make you curious, what are our match options. Each of our matches are the other zodiac sign we are best matched with. They are the same age as us, and they are the opposite sex.

In our society, homosexuality is not allowed because those partners cannot produce children to continue the harmonic utopia. Those who fall in love with other zodiac signs or the same sex get thrown into the trench. The trench is a small area of our world that has the people who don't fit into the idealistic society and rules set out by the creators. On my way home from school I often pass through. They look like us, just instead they live a life without the rules. The issue is when you are no longer welcome to see our family or marry legally.

My dream had been to follow the same path as my parents. Follow the seven pair path and marry my ideal match. I wanted to live that perfect harmonic life that everyone else seemed to follow. It was just how the world was planned. It made everything work as it should.

I never realized that I was going to be completely different than the path that I had wanted to lead. My journey starts at the age of 14 . . .
