(Time skip~4 days)
You haven't been to school for 4 days.. all your friends have texted you asking if you're okay; by this time the whole city had heard about Edward's death. You have not gotten out of bed and your parents are starting to worry about you missing school. You open your phone for the first time in 2 days and find a text from Elijah.
Eliღ: hey mads r u okay, i heard what happened. if u wanna talk im here
You stare at the text for a minute wondering what to say back.
yeah im alr ig, ill probs come to school today. js sad rn - SEND
He replies straight away
Eliღ: okay ill b here for u
thanks ive missed u ngl - SEND
Eliღ: me too, see u later
You get out of bed and put on some makeup to make it less obvious that you have been crying for 4 days straight. You get ready to go to school and head out the door, you are a little late so you walk to school alone.
As you enter the hallway you notice everyone stare at you, talk about you and try to avoid you. You try to keep your head down and walk to biology, you are about to enter the classroom as someone drags you away.
You look up and notice Elijah staring at you
"Mads are you okay" he says, trying not to make the conversation too obvious
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just sad about Edward" you reply sounding cold.
"Okay, how did you find out? Do you know who did it?" he said, but you could see right through him.
"Yes, I was there when he died Elijah. And it was obviously one of YOU who did it, don't try and act like you don't know." You quietly shout trying not to attract attention.
"Mads I swear I don't know who did it. I never got told, If I did I would've stopped it. I know you and Edward were really close, but If you gang-bang then it's gonna catch up with you at some point."
"Stop calling me Mads and don't try and blame this on him. He wasn't that involved with the gang, all he did was sell a few drugs. Unlike you Elijah, I know what you get up too." You point at his obvious black eye. "How'd you get this then??"
"It doesn't matter. I'm just worried for you" He replies.
"Right, whatever. I knew this could never work." You say as you start to walk away
"Mads don't be like that. I like you and I would never try to do anything to hurt you, but Los Reyes is my life and once you're in, you can't get out. Can we please just make this work" He begs
"Fine" You say as you walk into the classroom.
(Time skips to the end of day)
You get home and walk into your house where you see you dad waiting for you.
"Maddy you alright? Come here I wanna talk to you."
"Yeah sure." You walk over and sit near him
"So I know your mom doesn't want you dragged into this but..we found out who killed Edward."
You just sit there shocked. "I know it was Los Reyes" you reply
"Yes but we found the guy who actually planned the attack and killed him. We have him somewhere but since Edward was your best friend then maybe you would like to see him get what he deserves." He insists.
"Well.. I don't know." You reply. You have seen a few people been killed before, it was normal growing up around such violence and gangs. The first time was when you were 8, only just understanding what your dad actually does. It shocks you quite a bit but all the deaths were deserved, just like Edward's killer was.
"Fine" You say. Your dad passes you a gun. "Good, then you can do it"

As you are in the car, your mind can't help but think about what you are about to do. You have seen people be killed but never actually killed someone. Most 15 year olds around here have at this point, you just can't bring yourself to think about it.
You get out and walk into this secluded, abandoned trap house, clutching the gun in your hand. You walk into a room and see a man tied up in a chair with loads of people watching. I guess this is the time you become fully accepted into the gang. "Maddy, you can do it now" your dad says.
You raise the gun in your right hand and point it towards the head of the guy. You turn to look the other way and pull the trigger. You don't want to look at the bloody murder before you.
BANG!

You and your dad arrive home, late.
"Where have you been?" your mom asks.
"Just out" your dad replies. You head straight to your room without saying a word. (Kind of a give away to your mom). You start to hear your parents argue. She obviously knows now. Alex comes in your room.
"Just killed someone huh Maddy?" he asks
"No just go away Alex" you say as you try to close the door on him
"Whatever" he goes away.
You try to sleep but just can't stop thinking about everything that has happened in the past week. You decide to sneak out to go and see Elijah. You send him a text to let him know you're on your way.
hey eli is it okay if i come over? js need someone to talk too - SEND
He doesn't reply so you sneak out your window and walk to his house which is like a 20 minute walk.

You get to his house. You know that it's a bit dangerous showing up here, especially if someone sees you. You knock on his door and he takes a while to answer it. You notice he hasn't even read your text either.
He opens the door. "Maddy, what are you doing here. You can't be here right now?" you look up at him and notice he has just been crying.
"I just wanted to come over to talk to you. Are you okay, why are you crying Eli?" You reply. He still hasn't let you inside his house
"My brother.. he just died"
Oh shit.
