Assets POV
Well after a rather annoying introduction briefing with Peter Parker, Director Fury and myself I am giving instructions to take the Kid to compound 13 and train him before he can join the super hero fight club.
I already have a headache and we have only just walked through the front doors of the building. He just won't stop asking me questions.
As far as his aunt may knows he's off on a 12 week residential science club thing which Agent Hill came up with, so there really isn't a way to get out of this, the kid kinda has to be here now.
I give him the most basic and informative tour I could before showing him where he'd be staying on second level.
"Wait, what's on the 3rd floor, we never went up there" he indicates to that level above us.
"That's because it's my floor, no one is allowed up there but me" I begin to walk to that stairway away from the kid, but of course being young and curious he follows.
"How come you get a whole floor to yourself and I get a room?"
"Because this is my facility, Fury set up this facility for me to train people like you, amateurs who think they know what they are doing until they fuck up and people get killed. It's my job to knock that naivety and impulsiveness out of you before it costs someone their life. That's why I get a whole floor to myself, because after dealing with that much idiocy for a day I need space to calm the fuck down before I kill someone".
Peter looks horrified...
And it makes me smile just a little.
"Understand? Anymore questions?" I ask mockingly.
"No I'm all good" he rocks anxiously back and forth on his feet...a nervous habit no doubt, interesting...
"Good training starts 5am tomorrow morning on level 1 outside the main gym, don't be late or I will beat the tardiness out of you".
I don't wait to hear his response and take off upstairs for a shower and much needed sleep. Holy hell, 12 weeks of this hyperactive teen might just be the push I needed to throw myself into a wood chipper...
This kid is going to really test my self restraint...
