She looked into the mirror that had been hung so delicately every few seconds as she swept the halls of the Higgins manor, hoping... just hoping that she had been real
That she had been alive, she stared deeply and horribly with a sad look knowing so well that if she looked away just for a split second she would fade
With every last breath, smile and tear and there'd be nothing... no more Ophelia Tresline
Her hand had been placed gently on the mirror, thinking if this had been a dream
And just as it had all begin it ended
The flash of a boy resembling her appearance looked her in the eyes as a whisper spoke by her left ear
"Hide...."
The mirror shattered into pieces falling into her hair and a piece into her hand as she shielded herself
Melody had came running in with worry all over her face but the minute she had seen the expensive glass all over the floor
"What in the name of Thor had happened here!?" Melody had screamed making her British accent flourish out
Her furious eyes landed on Ophelia's tiny body
"Clean this mess up or else you'll have more than just one cut on you body" she said walking away holding her silk dress up with pride
Ophelia knew she had been in trouble but, working here for 2 years she had been use to it
She had picked those glasses up with ease and thrown them into the trash can before pulling the piece of glass out and wrapping it with fabric
After her last sweep, she grabbed her things and left
After six hours of work she was bound for a goods night rest
As she left the front door the streets had been eeriely quiet
Normally there had been fathers coming back from a long days of labor as he worked in the mines
But tonight... nothing
She walked to the direction of her house but stopped with full force turning around
Surely she had heard footsteps - no - or maybe she had been imagining it
Shaking her head she took one quiet step but sopped and turned harshly back
Now she had been positive that she had heard something
Slowly but surely she took the deep fried flower out of her back pack that she so desperately wanted to use to make a fresh loaf of bread of
Grabbing a handful, she stared so contently at the empty space in front of her
What if there was nothing and she had wasted such good flower but without another thought she raised her hand and threw it and it fell lazely to the floor
She had expected it to fall onto an invisible thing and shape as it so that she could guess or even run
Maybe she wanted to see a human
She turned around and decided to run her way home
Reaching home, she had expected warmth and comfort like every other night she came home from a long day of work only to reach the freezing cold air that hadn't hugged her but punched her in the face
She shivered closing the door behind her and started a fire... the only thing that stopped her from banging her head on the coffee side table
'Food' she thought scratching through the empty draws that had only beans
She grabbed a bowl and a cup
Pouring some milk into the cup and dishing the beans into the bowl
She sat down at the crooket table and started eating, she had laid herself down on her bed after cleaning her wound she closed her eyes going back to the events of today
She couldn't help but think about the figure that stood behind the boy, she knew it
Or at least she thought so
