A whole three days later, while I was doing my art homework -drawing people that express their emotion through their body- I remembered I didn't open Noah's letter. I felt sorry for him and also for myself. I mean he was so cute and tried to do the best for me to have a nice birthday meanwhile I was upset about my father and angry at him for exactly no reason. He couldn't really know. Well he could've... if he watched news.
So I quickly jogged over to my handbag which laid on a chair in my room and twirled my hand in it around until I found it. I sat back down and slowly opened it. It was kind of crumbled because of me. When I took it out there was another letter in it. A little smaller. It said 'I'll be waiting.' I didn't get it.
Opening the second letter I realised it was a plane ticket to New York. I was shocked so my mouth fell open a little
How could he even afford this and why would he give it to you? Does he live there? My mind asked me all of these questions and I still didn't get what I was holding in my hands. It was like the day the little poor boy found the ticket for the chocolate fabric.
I checked if there was any more information but there wasn't. The plane ticket was for tomorrow. I read it again. TOMORROW! No way. No.
I didn't have a phone number and I didn't know how to contact him at all. I couldn't just go and fly to New York as if I would have known what to do there. Also... I had school.
Are you even allowed to fly by yourself? Ha.
I ran downstairs, faster than ever bursting into Jason's room -the one he was in when he visited us- and threw the plane ticket on his black desk in front of him.
''YOU gotta come to New York with me. Tomorrow!'' He looked at me like I was talking Chinese backwards. He took the ticket in both of his hands and looked at me strangely
''Did you buy this illegally on the internet or in school? You know that it's..'' he started but didn't end the sentence.
I furrowed. ''No I didn't. Noah gave it to me on my birthday and he's not here any more and I forgot to open it cus we kind of fought until now.''
''You're strange.'' Jason mumbled and turned his laptop off, also taking his headphones fully off.
''You can forget that right away. Firstly mum is never gonna let you go and secondly I don't have a ticket and third mom.is.never.gonna.let.you.go.''
''We will find one that's not expensive please com'on I gotta apologise. Plus you've always wanted to go to New York and you don't even have to be with me and mum will let me go if I tell her you'll be with me because I don't see you a lot.'' I spoke way too fast and probably lost a few of these words in my sentences.
Jason shook his head. ''You're crazy.''
''So is that a yes?'' My eyes got bigger and bigger in excitement. NEW YORK!!!!
''Gosh yes you nagger. Convince mother girl.'' I was already grabbing the ticket out of his hands and twirling out of his room in full happiness. NEW YORKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!
I quickly texted Eden about my news making about four hundred type mistakes while I was walking inside of the living room, finding my mum doing some housework.
''Muuuuuuum?'' I asked her with a way too long u in mum and she had that look on her face. She knew I wanted something from her.
''hmh?'' she mumbled bored and I held her shoulders.
''Soooooo I gotta ask you something but promise you won't say no right away.'' She looked at me to pay attention by then.
''If it's about that boy again Sophia.. then it's a no.'' What the hell did she have against Noah?
