I just want to close my eyes
Let the darkness reign free
Let my mind drift off
Ignore the fears that hold me
They grip tighter sensing weakness,
grasp stronger when exhaustion sets in.
Swirling dark fog in my head,
logic has fled,
irritability threatening to overtake
every interaction.
I hold onto positivity by a thread.
Then a thought crashes in like a wave,
off-setting my delicately balanced boat.
I'm about to capsize.
