While Dabi and Kyubey continued their shopping trip Kyubey decided to change into some of her new clothes, since she was tired of constantly needing to pull up her pants and readjusting them. When she finally came out out the bathroom she sighed softly in relief. "That feels better." She said as she continued to shove her other clothes into the bag.
She left the dressing room and Touya looked up from his phone, his eyes roaming over her. "You look nice." he commented as he stood and she smiled a little. "Thanks..I think I have everything I need. They even had my favorite body wash.." she said still feeling weird about spending his money and he hummed in response. "You didn't get any jewelry?" he asked and she shook her head. "No..it was all expensive." she said and he sighed.
He gave her a look then took her by the waist, leading her out of the clothes store. "What are you doing?" she mumbled, her face hot.
"Getting you jewelry. In case we go out you have nice things to wear." he replied as he entered a Kay's jewelry store. "But I don't want to waste so much money." she said, though he noticed she couldn't help looking toward the diamond bracelets they had on display. "I spent 1.5 billion dollars just on you. This is nothing." he murmured and she huffed. "You didn't have to." she grumbled and he chuckled but didn't reply as he looked toward the cashier who had been checking him out silently.
"I'd like that bracelet boxed as well as those earrings and that ruby studded necklace." he said and the woman, Macy, jumped, nodding quickly. "Of course Mr. Todoroki."
He must be a regular here.. thought Kyubey as Macy drifted around the store, grabbing the pieces he asked for. "Thanks." said Kyubey and Touya hummed. "You're welcome." their eyes met and she had to look away.
Don't fall for him. He's apart of the Mafia. she inwardly sighed, shaking her head. Touya noticed but didn't say anything.
"Is there anything else you'd like to do before going home? I have a meeting at nine." he questioned after paying the cashier. "No, I think we're fine. I don't want to be out too long...you know." She says looking up at him. Dabi nodded slightly taking the bags with the jewelry in it then turning and leaving the store. She let him keep his arm wrapped around her as they walked. Feeling oddly comfortable in his arms.
Even though she tried not to think about it, the harder she did the more she blushed.
As they walked, someone bumped into her and she was surprised when Dabi scowled at the person, a dark look in his eyes. "Asshole." he muttered as Aizawa held open the door for them and Kyubey slipped inside first with Dabi behind her. Aizawa closed the door for a moment as he put the bags in the trunk, then finally got in after.
Kyubey leaned against Dabi slightly, just testing to see what he'd actually might do if she did.
I really...shouldn't be doing this. But I can't help myself, it's like he's got me in a trance.
She thought, huffing softly at herself.
Dabi raised a brow but didn't push her away, instead pulled her into his lap and wrapping his arms around her slowly. She didn't move away so he tightened his grip on her and sighed, closing his eyes. She bit her lip at that and carefully reached up, running her fingers through his hair.
He leaned into the touch, his expression relaxed and she thought he looked even more attractive which shouldn't have been possible.
Ugh.
"So do you even sleep?" she asked and he hummed, brushing his nose against her neck and breathing in quietly. Her face burned and he sighed again. "Yeah just not well. And I work a lot." he murmured and she frowned. "Doing..?" she asked hesitantly. "Paperwork. Scouting out my properties..and yes, killing. Drug deals, but I don't do drugs. Just things to make money. It's my job." he stated.
"I know." she said and he noticed she almost looked sad, or maybe disappointed? He didn't know which but he didn't like the look on her. He caressed her face gently and she looked at him, her eyes darting to his lips. "You think about it too heavily. None of it is personal until it gets that way. Half the people I kill, are all bad themselves..not one of them, deserves redemption. As for the drugs, I have no control over who buys them. Just the kind we deal." he said.
"I know. But you hear stuff about it on the news..I didn't expect this." she mumbled, leaning against him and he hummed. "I'm sorry this happened." he whispered and she was silent. The entire ride though was much less tense. Dabi trying not to fall asleep while Kyubey hummed a song to herself.

When they arrived home, Kyubey moved off of Dabi's lap. Aizawa stepped out first then let both Dabi and Kyubey out. When Dabi stepped out of the car Kyubey pulled him closer and smiles up at him innocently.
"What's gotten into you?" he remarked and she shrugged. Dabi was silent a moment. "If you're trying to get close to me just to try and get away, it won't work." he said blandly, seeming slightly disappointed by something. She cocked an eyebrow and pulled away slightly. "If that's all you think of me...then I'll stop."
"No I just ah.." he trailed off, seeming hesitant. "I haven't had a sort of relationship in a while..women in this world usually only want two things. I know you're not from this world, but I'm just cautious." he said, pulling her back now and Aizawa began bringing the bags in to give them privacy. She looked up at him and giggles a little. "I understand, but if I was just trying to use you. I would be more obvious. I'd already be trying to get in bed with you."
"But you were being a tease." he said, a certain look in his eyes and she gave an innocent stare. "I don't know what you mean." she said and he rolled his eyes as the two started to take a walk around the yard. Kyubey was surprised, knowing he had work to do but realizing he was stalling for her.
"Sure..what kind of life did you have before this?" he asked suddenly. "Restricted, my dad kept "body guards" on me. Watching my house..watching my work. It was ridiculous I couldn't even have a love life without my dad scaring them away." She responds. "But other than that...my kind of life was. Simple. Nothing like this that's for sure." she said, glancing around and he frowned.
"Your dad wasn't Mafia was he?" asked Dabi and Kyubey shook her head, grimacing. "No. He's the police commissioner. He's just really over protective. But I guess this was the one time I should've listened to him. I got made because of the guards and.." she trailed off with a shrug and Dabi tensed up.
Now he definitely couldn't let her go.
"Well..as long as you're here, you are free to do almost anything. But leave, unless of course we're leaving together." said the male and Kyubey began to respond, when Aizawa reappeared, clearing his throat. "Boss, the meeting." he said, glancing at Kyubey and Dabi sighed. He pulled away from her and she tried not to miss the warmth he emitted.
"Alright. If you're hungry, ask a maid to get dinner for you. I probably won't be done for a while. And don't come into the room at the end of the first floor." he said just as several cars pulled up. Kyubey tensed up and Dabi seemed agitated as people began stepping out.
They noticed Kyubey and he immediately pulled her close, shielding her from view as he led her inside.
"Ask the maids for the cinema room or whatever else you want to do but don't disturb me unless absolutely necessary." he said and she nodded in understanding. He nodded to Aizawa and the man, motioned for Kyubey to follow him toward the kitchen.
"Um..will you be with me all night?" she asked and he shook his head.
"For now yes. But not really. I'll just be by your side. Touya doesn't trust the other security guards as much as myself. I'm the most skilled." he said and Kyubey seemed to understand.
