A theif

Erie's POV (timeskip to the end of the day)

I started to succumb to sleep as we searched for Cassidy.

I was sooo tired and hungry.

But I was too worried to take a nap.

A small clouded drizzle took place above my head as I got more an more worried for Cassidy.

The more I thought about her the more worried i got.

Eventually yuno started to notice my slight change in character.

"You must be hungry, I'll cook some food."

"But what about-"

"We'll look for her tomorrow but right now you need to rest."

He was right, exhausting myself as well as Yuno wasn't a good idea. The good thing was that we had found shelter in a building that wasn't too broken down.

And there was chicken.

I watched a yuno grilled the chicken using a dirty grill that he'd found while searching. Just seeing the chicken made my mouth water.

"I'm going to go get the paper plates that we found earlier, I'll be back." yuno said while blowing the fire so that it would die out.

And just before he came out with the plates I heard a noise but assumed it was my imagination, then i heard it again.

"Hello?" I wispered

And BOOM like lightning, the food was gone!

I saw the person run away with the chicken in her hands. I analyzed her, she looked skinny like she hadn't eaten in years.

Just then I snapped out of it and my hunger kicked in. Tailing her like a wild animal I started yelling at her.

"HEY!"

" COME BACK RIGHT NOW!!!"

After running for what felt like forever I started to loose my breath. So I slowed down to recover.
But she kepted running at her inhumane paste.

"ARE YOU * hah hah* KIDDING *huff* ME?!!"

Just then yuno yelled "Erie come back! are you doing?"

"SERIOUSLY??!!" I yelled at the girl not knowing where she was or even knowing if she was still there.

I angerly stomped and grumbled while trying to regain my breath, causing a storm to erupt over my head, drenching my hair.

Just then Yuno caught up to me.

"Erie, It'll be fine."

Yuno grabbed my hand to gesture that I needed to calm down.

"We have more food, she probably needs it more than us. Calm down now." He said.

He used his powers to control the heat so he could dry my hair.

And after he was done he said, "we have MRE's"

"That taste like trash!" I said.

Then I started to wonder...

"Where's everybody else, anyway? We haven't seen another human for years except that girl. Is north America unpopulated now?"

~a long time of talking with Yuno about that subject (cause im lazy)~

Then I heard a snap coming from the building where we took shelter in.

It was the MRE bin!

We started to dart back to our shelter as we heard the hurried crumble and clatter of the rubble being pushed out of the way.

We heard the person delay for a second and then start again. Once we got back to the shelter they were gone.

"Maybe it was that girl!"

"Well at least she didn't take much, she must've heard we were coming."

"It's fine we'll just stay here until we can locate Cassidy and put her somewhere safe."
