Reconciliation

In the infirmary, nurses and doctors tended to Arny and the princess' wounds. The cuts luckily weren't too deep, so minor stitching was required. Once cleaned and bandaged up, Arny sat next to the princess.

"Are you okay?" Arny asked the princess who had one eye covered

"Yes your majesty. Are you okay?" 

"Yes I am. Just very sore but I will be fine." Arny said with a slight smile "My lady, I am truly sorry for everything" 

"There's no need to be sorry your majesty" the princess said as she looked at Arny

"I owe you an apology" Arny took the princess' hand "Ever since we met, I was so uncertain of the decision to marry you. I thought that I was better off with Celestia, which I now know as a huge mistake. After our first night together, something within me knew that I was going to be making the right decision to marry you. You are beautiful, smart, talented, and courageous. No woman I know has matched your level of beauty and intelligence. I am so sorry for everything you saw and heard. Now I only ask of you is if you have forgiven me."

"Your majesty, I am very flattered" the princess said "I have been thinking a lot about our time together and I realized that I shouldn't have walked out on you. I was jut so shocked by everything that I was so confused and emotional. I should've listened to your side of the story. There was so much evidence showing that Celestia was not who she said she was and I completely forgot about it in that moment. I do forgive you and I ask if your majesty has forgiven me as well."

"Of course I do" Arny said "You saved my life. How can I not forgive you?" Arny wrapped his arm around the princess and pulled her close for a hug "There is something I want to ask you. Will you marry me...again?"

The princess smiled and nodded "Yes I will Arny"

The couple embraced and kissed each other as they held each other close.

"By the way" Arny said as he placed his hand on the princess' cheek "You never got to tell me your name"

"My name is Mirela" she said as she looked up at Arny

"Queen Mirela of Edessa. That sounds so beautiful to me" Both Arny and Mirela smiled as they pulled each other in for a kiss.

Several months later, Arny and Mirela finally renewed their vows in the newly rebuilt cathedral they were first married in. Not too long after, Mirela was crowned Queen of Edessa. The kingdoms of Edessa and Exalos were finally allied as the Orane Empire fell after the death of Ronan. Slowly and surely, the kingdom was rebuilt from the ruin's of Ronan's destruction. The King and Queen went on to fight many more battles side by side, coming out victorious. The Army of Edessa was considered the strongest army in the land under the command of Queen Mirela, who was appointed as Military Commander. Until their last days, Arny and Mirela stayed by each other's side through the good and the bad. Their love for each other produced many processors that ruled Edessa and Exalos for hundreds of years after their deaths. Their story captivated many throughout the world and served as a reminded that love can conquer anything, even an empire.
