[✩] The air carried a chill, the moon was high upon the sky, at it fullest. Cats gathered around a large pond, four leaders and their deputies sat in the middle, in a patch of grass. On the shore, cats of all ages, ranging from apprentice to elder sat around, gossiping about what had happened between their clans.

The meows became quiet as the moon reached its highest point. A leader stood up and began to announce important things about what had happened in their clan, and just casual things. Sagebush sat there, underneath his leader, Quietstar. The leader occasionally looked down at Sagebush, as if they wanted him to say something.

All Sagebush did was nod to what the leaders had to say. He was among one of the only deputies at the meeting this time, as the others were too caught up with their own chaos to join the leaders below the slope.

"Amazing news for ColdClan, we are proud to announce that we have appointed a new deputy. He has joined us at this wonderful meeting today." Quietstar looked down at Sagebush, prompting him to speak out.

Sagebush dipped his head. "I am honored to have such a high rank within my clan, I may have many responsibilities, but it's nothing I can't handle."

Quietstar purred. "Thank you, Sagebush. You serve the clan well." [✩]

Dawn was upon all the surrounding clans, meaning it was time for all to rise. Birds were chirping away, hiding themselves in the thick of the trees. Drops of dew dripped from the leaves, and hit Sages' head. At first, he ignored the drops. But they didn't stop rolling down the leaves and gently hitting his head. He rolled over, to escape the water drops, but that only caused more to spill onto his fur.

The movement shook the roof of the bushy den and soon he was covered in dew drops. Sage quickly got up and shook his fur.

At the entrance of the den, once again stood Blizzardspirit. He looked over at Sage with a slight smile. He turned around and flicked his tail, signaling the loner to follow him. Sage got up from the warm moss nest and slowly made his way out of the medicine den. The clearing was empty, only a few warriors sat about.

Blizzardspirit beckoned two more warriors to follow him, and soon the four were out on patrol around the territory. Blizzardspirit split up with Sage, to get some more personal time with him.

"You have quite the character. Mind spillin some of the blood?" He nudged at Sage gently.

Sage smiled. "Like, literally or..?"

"Not literally. Tell me a bit about yourself." Blizzardspirit grinned.

The two of them circled around an area of the territory while they gossiped.

"I used to be a deputy." Sage decided to go all in. "Until well, things happened I guess."

Blizzardspirit stopped and looked over at Sage. The information that was shared was rather shocking. "You, a deputy?" He laughed sarcastically. "How amusing."

Sage rolled his eyes and furrowed his eyebrows. "Doubt me all you want, but it was surely something. I was respected."

The tom continued onward, avoiding the muddy areas of MarshClans' territory. He jumped over a log and walked over to an old rotting tree. There, he stopped and marked the territory a bit before going in the opposite direction. Heading toward the TundraClan border, he could smell some cats.
