Throughout the next few days after Y/N visited Miyagi-Do and experienced what it's like to see Mr. LaRusso's students in action, he has gotten around to visiting a lot more, bonding with Sam and Robby as time goes by. Mr. LaRusso also thought about using the board in the koi pond to help them with the wheel technique. Y/N also ordered another wooden dummy for the dojo to use, which Daniel thanked Y/N for quite a lot. Currently, Y/N is doing some more training on the wooden dummy at the dojo. Before all this happened, there was a festival called Valley Fest, and before that, Mr. LaRusso posted an advertisement on Youtube to promote Miyagi-Do. However, Y/N has heard along the grape vine that the Cobra Kai's were not happy and trashed their performance at the Valley Fest.
Y/N didn't comment on the situation, not really sure of what to say to them to cheer them up, so he just left it at that. Currently, as he is doing the wooden dummy, Robby is on the punching bag while Sam is doing some stretches to try and get some training in. After Y/N finishes his routine, he heads out to the back of the dojo and takes a sip of his water.
"Maybe we should take a video of us sparring and post it on Instagram." Robby suggests to try and get Miyagi-Do's reputation up more so that others can join too.
"Everyone already saw us at Valley Fest, no one cared." Sam says, not really seeing the point of it.
"I haven't seen it, but I can tell that it would've probably been awesome had Cobra Kai not messed with your demo." Y/N says, lifting the Miyagi-Do practitioners' spirits slightly.
"You know what the problem is? Miyagi-Do's all about defense." Robby speculates to both Y/N and Sam.
"Defense wins championships." Sam fires back.
"Yeah, but people show up for the offense. That's why Cobra Kai is more popular." Robby counters.
"It may be more popular, but that doesn't mean it is the most effective. Martial Arts is a way of living, if Cobra Kai practitioners were to take this into the real world, there'd be more scumbags in the world that we already have." Y/N explains to Robby, which does raise a good point.
"True, but we need to show everyone that we can fight too." Robby says.
"So, what exactly are we supposed to do? Go to the mall and pick a fight? Record us defending ourselves?" Sam asks sarcastically.
"It's not the worst idea." Robby says, thinking it was an okay plan, but Sam scoffs.
"It's a terrible plan." She says before Robby goes back to the punching bag and Y/N looks at the both before deciding to head to the koi pond and hop onto the circle board to do his other routines on there. He takes off his shoes and his shirt before stepping into the cold water and getting onto the board. He steadies himself before he gets himself into a square stance and starts to do the hand motions for the techniques.
After a while, Sam comes back from heading to see her dad in the front and calls to Robby and Y/N.
"Hey, you two! My dad's taking us for a drive, c'mon!" She says, ushering them over to her, which they quickly do before heading to the front and see Mr. LaRusso in what Sam refers to as the Banana Boat, one if Mr. Miyavi's prized cars.
"Good, you're here, c'mon. We're going to the beach club." Daniel says and the three of them hop in with Robby and Y/N at the back and Sam riding shotgun. Once inside, they start to head to the beach clubhouse.
On the road, Y/N was mainly looking out at the sea as it touches the sky on the horizon, when he hears Robby question what Mr. LaRusso is going to even do at the beach club.
"I still don't understand how going to the beach is gonna help us get students." Robby says, leaning forward a little bit.
"It's not the students that I'm after, it's the parents." Daniel clarifies to them, keeping his eyes on the road.
