A short oneshot to celebrate Mother's Day.

"Please don't touch anything, Faith," Spencer urged his daughter who was sitting in the shopping cart. As he scanned the shelves for the items on his list, Faith reached out for the items on her personal list. Anything that looked sweet was appetizing to her small belly.

"Can I have this, daddy," Faith asked, pointing to the Princess fruit snacks on the shelf out of her reach. "SJ wants them too."

"SJ cannot eat those," Spencer laughed. Like her mother, Faith didn't give up when it came to food. If she could beg her way into getting those fruit snacks, she would. Even if it meant throwing her baby brother into the mix. "Your brother eats mommy's milk until he gets bigger."

"Those will make him bigger," Faith countered, crossing her arms and preparing to throw a fit if she didn't get her way.

"Uh uh, what did I tell you about that pouting? It doesn't get you your way," the father added, ignoring Faith's doe eyes and downturned lips. Truth was, he could barely keep himself from folding. Men weren't lying when they said that daughters changed a man's life. His ability to tell her 'no' faltered at times. "We're supposed to be getting your mom stuff for Mother's Day. You're supposed to be my special helper, remember?"

"Yes," she cried, frustrated that Spencer didn't pick up her favorite snack. "Mommy can eat them."

Spencer chuckled, "Nice try, kid. I must applaud your effort."

The father and daughter finished their shopping trip and headed back home.

Spencer planned to have his mother-in-law and mother over to celebrate Mother's Day with Olivia. They would be served breakfast and he paid for an in house spa day they could enjoy. This year he decided that Faith could help with breakfast. She was becoming more and more independent and they were allowing her to help out more. At least as much as she could at the tender age of four.

"Daddy's going to put you on this chair so you can reach the bowl," he said, grunting as he picked Faith up and placed her in the chair in front of the kitchen island. She rested her head in her hands as she watched her father move around the kitchen collecting ingredients. "Want to help me mix the waffles?"

"Yes," Faith squealed, holding her hand out for the whisk. Spencer let her pour the powder into the bowl and measured the water for her to pour in afterwards. He glanced over at his son who was still sound asleep in his playpen. Olivia had offered to watch after him while breakfast was prepared, but Spencer didn't want her lifting a finger all day. That was his goal. This was her day to relax.

The aroma traveling around the James home, brought Olivia downstairs before Spencer called the mothers into the dining room for breakfast. Olivia snuck a piece of bacon while Faith and Spencer were busy putting out silverware.

"Mommy's stealing," Faith called out as Olivia was grabbing another piece.

"Faithy," Olivia gasped, shaking her head at her daughter who was hugging Spencer's leg. "I thought we were besties, baby."

"Nooo," she giggled, dodging Olivia's hands that were coming to tickle her sides.

"Great job, having my back. I should have known the food monster was coming down here to steal a bite," Spencer high-fived Faith's small hand.

"You both are sickening. I'll just go check on my other bestie then," the mother stuck out her tongue and went to check on their sleeping son. Soon after, Grace and Laura joined them.

"These are for you three," Spencer said, giving Faith a bundle of flowers to give to Laura.

"Awe, these are beautiful. Thank you, son," Laura said, pulling the flowers to her nose. Spencer kissed his mother's cheek as he handed her the other bundle before moving on to his wife at the head of the table. "And for you."

"Thank you," Olivia giggled as Spencer peppered her cheek in kisses.

"Now, Faith helped with the waffles so I'm not sure how they'll taste. She insisted that we add blueberries and strawberries."

"I'm sure baby girl's special ingredients made them wonderful," Grace smiled, pulling her granddaughter into her lap.

Spencer left the mothers alone and grabbed a stirring Spencer Jr. from the playpen. "It's just me and you, buddy." Mini Spencer cooed at his father. "One day you'll be helping me with this. It'll be our little tradition."

After the day's events and Grace and Laura left to go home, Spencer put an extremely sleepy Faith down for a nap. Olivia was laying against the pillows on the couch, nursing Spencer Jr. who was peering up at his mother.

"Good and relaxed," Spencer asked, settling down next to his wife. "This boy still eating?"

"He's greedy," Olivia whispered, running her hand through her son's curls.

"I wonder who he gets that from," Spencer laughed. "But he's a growing boy. Don't be too hard on him. Gotta feed those muscles, right baby boy?"

"Not too much on me. I pushed out two of your big head kids. I need my nourishment," Olivia joked. "Okay, time to burp."

"I got it," Spencer took his son from Olivia's lap and rested him on his shoulder to burp. "Ha, good one!" Spencer cheered when a low rumble came from the baby's mouth.

Olivia sat back and watched Spencer cradle his namesake. Seeing him be a father was so rewarding. The joy that their children brought them was priceless. Feeling eyes on him, Spencer turned his head to find Olivia's warm smile.

"Happy Mother's Day, baby," he crooned.
