there she lay in bed on her side, the covers thrown over her body as she looked longingly out her tall bedroom window; the fluorescent lights shining from countless other buildings in the heart of london hypnotising her as she procrastinated endlessly until a low vibration emitted from her phone thrown across her room.
struggling to gather the energy within herself she managed to stand up, grab her glasses, and walk towards her phone.
ONE NOTIFICATION Congratulations Kang Marie! You have passed the first stage of an interview for JYP Ent..
she stood still for a moment..
"JYP.."
and then it hit her.
A FEW DAYS AGO
"marie.. we love you but how much longer are you going to live off our money!"
"honey you're being too harsh on her.."
"she needs to understand she isn't a little kid anymore! someone needs to wake her up from this stupid little dream she has and realise that money doesn't grow on trees!"
she sat there in silence, her hands clenching her phone, silent tears threatening to fall and her mascara ruined.
"listen here kang marie. i'm cutting off all our connections until you finally get a fucking job and prove you aren't so useless"
and that's when the call ended,
that was also the last thing kang marie remembered that night before she decided she had enough.
what a pathetic little life, no friends, her family leaving her.. and to top it off she hadn't paid her bills to the sweet old lady who she rented her apartment from.
the sound of heavy music leaked through her cheap plastic blue steel headphones. she hadn't realised but music had kept her safe, music was possibly one of the only reasons she ever hung around for so long.
the melancholy atmosphere of london suffocated marie and that's when she decided she wasn't going to slug around anymore.
