FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2023

"Alright, we're back with Hozier, talking about his new single, Early Morning Light off of his EP of the same name," the TV host said, smiling happily for the camera. "So its been a couple years since your last album. What have you been up to in the time between?"

Andrew chuckled and inhaled slowly. "Ehm...quite a lot, I suppose." He considered how in depth he wanted to go with his answer as the camera man panned the large device in front of him. "I thoroughly enjoyed the last tour. It was great to go to some new cities I hadn't been to yet and meet fans that hadn't seen me yet. I loved playing all the festivals as well. Ehm...I was happy to just get home and relax, though," he chuckled again. "I did quite a lot more writing this time around basically from the moment I got home, though. I had a lot more inspiration - people, places, things, events - this time around as well. But yeah, other than that, just spending time with family and friends. Getting back to normal again," he laughed.

"You've released your EP Early Morning Light this week. Take us through what we can expect from it. What's the general tone of it?" the blonde woman asked, leaning forward in her chair.

"Ehm..." he ran his fingers through his hair as he tried to find the right words. "Its definitely quite a bit more protest-focused. Early Morning Light specifically is directly inspired by my wife - ehm - and the work she does," he froze for a second, realizing what he'd let slip.

"You got married? Congratulations!" the woman exclaimed as the live audience clapped and cheered.

A blush rose to his cheeks as he ducked his head in a mixture of embarrassment and annoyance with himself. "Ehm, yeah. Yeah, I did." He cleared his throat, trying to regain control of the conversation. "As I said, Early Morning Light is directly inspired by my wife, Molly. She's an attorney out of California and has done a lot of work helping people from low income groups get access to fair legal representation in a justice system that so often favors the wealthy and well-connected. I was really inspired by her and women like her and in many ways, that song is my love letter to every single strong woman out there changing the world and helping others."

A loud round of applause filled the sound stage and he grinned as he took it in.

"And what else can we expect from the EP?" the woman asked.

"As I was writing the material for this album, my wife was actually taking courses to get her Master of Laws degree, so she obviously had a lot of cases and legal history and procedure to study," he explained. "I happened to spend a lot of time listening to her review and all of that and the idea of justice and a justice system and what those things mean really began to stick out in my mind. Then I was sort of captured by the idea of what injustice actually encompasses and that sort of led to the tracks you guys will hear."

"Any other surprises you'd like to share with us? A baby perhaps?" the woman joked.

He laughed. "Oh, no. Definitely not."

"Tour dates for this album have already been announced - the first leg begins in Miami, Florida in six weeks' time," she continued. "Are you excited to get back out there?"

"Of course, yeah," he replied happily. "I'm excited to get back on stage and play the bigger venues we've got on the list this time around. We're starting with a couple warm up shows in about a month here in Dublin over at The Academy, just to get back in the swing of things and to get the band really tuned up. But after that, yeah. It'll be full speed ahead on the tour."
