Crookedpaw opened his eyes, finding the familiar forest where his nightly trainer lived. I'm back! Thank you starclan. He knew he was special, starclan had allowed him to be trained by them!

"Well, if it isn't my apprentice." Said the familiar raspy voice from behind. He turned and allowed Mapleshade's gaze rake over him. Her calico fur seemed smoother tonight, as though something was happening. "We have something to do tonight. Over the next three days, you will prove yourself to me."

Crookedpaw's chest puffed up with pride. He followed Mapleshade's gaze as slowly, from the dark, emerged a sandy-colored tom. His eyes filled with fear and he locked gazes with Mapleshade. Her paw lifted, telling him to stop. Mapleshade looked at Crookedpaw.

"That," she nodded towards the tom, "Is Appledusk. And he's out to get me!" The last part she howled in fear. "You must kill him for me, before he hurts me! You promised to stay at my side!" Crookedpaw felt his heart ache for her. His mentor was being threatened. He knew he couldn't break his promise.

Appledusk shook his head. "You killed me! I want nothing to do with you! You ruined my life." He spat at her. Crookedpaw looked back and forth between the two.

He locked gazes with the tom. How dare he try to lie and hurt my mentor!? Crookedpaw sprang at him, and pinned him down quickly. "Please, you're so young. And so innocent. Don't let her rot your brain." He pleaded. "No, he's trying to manipulate you! He's going to kill me! Don't let him."

Crookedpaw had decided. He swiftly bit his neck with the move Mapleshade had taught him. Appledusk's eyes clouded over, all color leaving them. Blood pooled around his now limp body. As Crookedpaw stepped off of him, his body slowly dissipated into nothing. Not even his blood remained there.

"You did so well! He'll never hurt me now." She praised him. So why did he feel so sick about it? Why did it seems so wrong? "That was the end of today's test, but don't worry, you'll come back tomorrow." Crookedpaw nodded. He curled up into a ball and let his body wake in the real world...

"And there's a centipede
Naked in your bedroom
Oh and you swear to God
The fucker's out to get you
And I digress
'Cause I must make you the perfect morning
I try my best
To scoop the slugger out the window"
