Ae's POV:
I was driving through the road being careful as there were so many fallen branches around the place. The weather was still cloudy and I had switched on the navigation on cell phone is order to see the hotels close by.
The person in the passenger seat was all quiet and looking out of the window. But something was off this time. He wasn't his usual self. The one that liked fighting and being all cute all the time. "Pete...." I called trying to gain his attention but he didn't respond. Something is surely wrong.
"Pete?" I called again but this time a bit louder. He startled a bit and then turned around to look at me. "Are you still scared?" I asked. "N-no.... I am not." He replied. "Than what is worrying you so much?" I asked.
"Nothing.... I just have this chaos in mind. I need to sort it out on my own. Sorry if I had troubled you." He said. What was he thinking so much?
I continued driving through the road while sparing occasional glances at Pete who was quiet in his place. Finally, we arrived in the city and I checked the time, it was 1.30 pm.
"Let's find something to eat." I said. "Okay..." he replied. I checked on the cellphone and then drove towards one of the finest restaurant. I parked the car in a parking lot and prepared to step out. But the person beside me didn't even budge from his place.
"Pete, we are here..." I said trying to snap him out of his thoughts. "Oh!" he said and then moved to step out of car. I watched him as he walked around and finally stood in front of me. "Is everything fine Pete? You look troubled. Is something bothering you? Was the food from last night not good? Are you feeling sick?" I inquired again. I was getting anxious seeing him like this.
He looked at me for a brief second as if studying my face before he smiled at me. "You are worrying too much Ae.... I am completely fine. Can we have food now? I am feel bit hungry." He replied. I felt a bit relieved hearing that familiar voice again.
We walked into a restaurant and I asked for some private place. This was mainly to avoid Pete from being seen by someone familiar and also to save myself from getting exposed.
I ordered the food and as soon as it arrived, we dig in. Pete seemed to be really hungry. "Ae, can I ask you something?" Pete spoke suddenly making me look at him. "Yes... You don't have to ask for a permission." I replied while chewing on my food.
"Is it possible to fall in love with someone else if you are already in a relationship?" he asked making me choke on my food. Now that..... was unexpected!! I began to cough and Pete hurriedly handed me a glass of water.
"I am sorry... I shouldn't have asked you that question." He began to apologize. Damn Pete!!! It's good that you asked otherwise I wouldn't have known what were you thinking throughout the drive. "No... It's not your fault... I happened to accidentally chew a piece of chilly." I tried to cover up. Infact, I am glad that you asked me that question.
"Oh!!! I thought....." he trailed at the end of the sentence. I was about to answer his question when the waiter walked in carrying dessert. He placed the plate on the table and left. "Wow!!! They look so delicious!!" Pete said picking up one of the bowl. Great!! The topic got diverted now.
I began to shove the food inside my mouth while thinking about the question Pete had just asked. Does it mean that he has begun to develop feelings for me? Does that mean he is actually realising that he can love me? Are there chances that the Zee guy would get kicked by him?? Arghhhhh!! Calm down you stupid mind. We can't just let our hopes run high just with this small change.
We finished the food and paid the bill before walking out of the restaurant. Pete seemed to be in a better mood now. We walked towards the car and got inside. I fastened the seat belt and was about to start the engine when I caught a glimpse of someone peeking from the other side. I turned my head in the direction only to see the person running away. Something is wrong.
