TW: animal harm, death?

"Hurry up dear! You're going to be late!" Hana's mom yelled at Hana. Hana and I were in her room laying on her bed. Hana is my owner and she is my everything. I mean she feeds me and gives me so many pets. "Can I take Mel with us!" Hana yelled back. "Yes, but hurry up!" her mom replied. I chipped up when I heard it. My little nose began to lightly wiggle. "Okay, come on Mel," she smiled at me brightly. I jumped up and down in excitement. She picked me up carefully and she hugged me. We began to head to the car.

We got in the car where Hana and I sat in the back. "I hope we aren't late," Hana's mom mumbled. I looked out the window and saw a black cat. I felt a little uneasy about it for some reason. It passed us slowly. "Oh come on, go faster!" her mom yelled. I jumped lightly at it. Then there was a sudden spike of pain. Everything went black. I heard a lot of yelling and noise. "Wait, I can't see, oh god, I can't see!" I yelled but my voice was weak. I got up slowly and then fell right back down. My leg hurt so bad. It was most likely broken. The pain felt like knives were going into me. "The pain, oh the pain," I whimpered. I began to pass out slowly "N-No Hana, where are you," I cried as I fell into a deep sleep.

I woke up violently. I hit a wall to my left then my right. Over and over again I was thrown into walls. Then I suddenly stopped. I huffed as I was trying to catch my breath. "You alright?" a low voice asked. "Y-Yes," I sighed. I wasn't alright, not at all. I was in pain and I still couldn't see. Worst of all, I couldn't find Hana. "Where are we?" I asked. "We are in a truck that they keep hurt animals in," The voice explained. "So, what's your name kid?" He asked sweetly. "Mel, yours," I answered weakly. "Tim, but my friends call me Odd," he smiled. How did I know? It was almost like I could feel it. "So, you can't see me right?" Odd asked. "No? Why? Also how did you know?" I asked. He shifted closer to me. "Well, your eyes are all hazy. And because that's how you can't tell I'm a wolf," He growled very low.

I jumped back and hit into the wall. "Hahaha, woah, careful. I'm not going to eat you I promise," He laughed. "B-But you're a wolf, you eat bunnies!" I shivered. "Well I haven't eaten you yet," he huffed. I guess that's true. I backed up more. "Wait, how are you hurt?" I asked. "My leg is broken, got in a fight," he said almost like he remembered it fondly. "Oh, does it hurt?" I asked, concerned. "A little, but I can still limp around," he smiled. "Well at least that's go-" I started but then I was thrown out of the truck. I yelled, as I began to roll down a hill. I finally stopped in some low water. I groaned as I got up. "You okay?" Odd asked. "Odd?" I shifted a little to face his voice. "Hey, like I said, only my friends call me that. But yes," he joked. "Are you okay?" I asked. "Yeah I landed on my feet. I'm more worried about you," he said, now coming closer to me.

"I'm fine, I was just all so fast," I smiled. "Alright, good," he huffed. I tried to listen to the surrounding sounds. I heard a river and birds. Then I heard a scream, it sounded human. "A wolf! A wolf!" they yelled. "Crap," he whispered. I then heard running and then....nothing. "Odd?" I said, trying to listen for him. "Odd!" I yelled, now running in a random direction. "Odd, please answer me," I begged. I began to cry. "Please," I sat there for hours, even days. Eventually, I got up to look for food. I wondered quite far. Then I started to eat grass. The grass was quite nice and tasty. I was then picked up by a human. I struggled to get out of their grasp.

"Woah there little guy," A female voice said sweetly. I was carried into a car. I was put carefully into a cage and the door shut. I was panicking and shaking. After a while I gave up and fell asleep. When I woke up I could see out of my right eye. I was in a doctor's office, on a table. "Oh she's awake," a blonde female smiled. I was the same voice as the one who took me. "Good, so her eye is working?" a male asked. "Yup, or it should be," she smiled. She put a light up to my eye, which made me flinch. "Yup, it's working," she hummed. "Now it's time to put her back into the wild," she smiled at me. She grabbed me carefully and put me back into the cage. After about an hour she let me out on the side of the road.

They drove off and I was left looking around. I looked on the other side of the road. There was my house, on the other side. "I made it home!" I yelled out in excitement. I walked slowly to my house. "I really made it! I made it back to H-" Then everything went black.
