"And...who are you?" Cobble questioned. His Sableye was practically drooling from the chops as it fixated on the necklace the mysterious person wore. Now that they were in spitting distance, he could see it was a dazzling gold and black skull. He wore a white tee underneath, accompanied by a black and white jacket. Offbeat glasses were set into his bleached white hair, baggy pants, and purple tattoos on each of his arms that resembled the same skull.
Team Skull.
The infamous team of thugs that seemed to have a foothold on each island. Trying to steal Pokémon every now and then, but it seemed their true motives were still unknown. All they seemed to do was be a pain on everyone's side.
"I've already beaten everyone else who dares to challenge me, so your next punk." He countered, completely dodging Cobble's question. He stuffed his hands into his pockets, storming off to what seemed to be one of the battling arenas. Cally and Cobble reluctantly followed after him.
"Who's hotshot?" Cobble whispered to her, out of earshot from the brazen man.
"That's Guzma," she replied. "He's a regular here." It was odd how calmly she was talking about one of Team Skulls' members being here. Looking up at the Sableye sitting on his shoulder, he shared the same confused look the creature had.
"You. Be the ref." Guzma told, pointing a finger at Cally. She wished Cobble good luck before jogging over to the lip of the field. Cobble and Guzma took their respective sides before grabbing a Poké ball from each of their pockets.
"This battle's already over," Guzma smirked, chucking the ball. The blue form shifted and twisted into a giant humanoid creature. Once it fully came into form, it turned out to actually be a giant arthropod. Its pale purple body was covered in silver armor plating. Its somewhat tiny head was attached to a pair of bright purple antennae, its mandibles almost forming a mask around its face. Two giant arms with two claws each were also covered in the same armor plating, two extra pairs of mandibles attached to its torso.
"Golisopod!" It rumbled.
Sableye watch tentatively as Cobble pulled out his own Poké ball. He ran a thumb over the red half, its glossy texture oddly comforting.
"Guide me to victory, friend," he whispered, before launching the ball into the air.
Vibrant red eyes gleamed dangerously in the midday sun. The dark gray mixed with deep cobalt beast roared, shifting its blue-headed dome around the air. It stomped its feet, the various spikes on its knees and collar a dull bone white. Two giant head spikes on either side were partnered with four shorter ones around the skull - azure stripes looked as though they were adhered to its body and lined its knees, wrists, and tail. It was as though an ancient creature rumbled from its sleep. And hell, it wasn't happy.
"Rampardos!" it thundered.
"The most satisfying feeling has got to be wiping cocky people like you right into the dirt," Cobble sneered, the adrenaline boost of a fight getting to him.
"Oh, it's on." Guzma grinned.
"Now that both trainers are ready to start..." Cally trailed off

"GO!"
"First Impression," Guzma mumbled, his toothy grin catching the sun. Before Cobble could even react, the Golisopod was already on top of his Rampardos, delivering a crushing blow to its side. The Rampardos skidded back, its head shifting to wear it was hit before looking back at its adversary. The Golisopod had retreated back to its owner, awaiting its next command.
