"Carina they'll be here any moment, let's get a move on!" Carina's mom, Suzanne, called out.
Carina didn't have enough sleep to be waking up at six AM in the morning to begin her packing. She was star gazing from when the stars began to show, to when She felt so tired She couldn't keep her eyes open.
"Coming," Carina yelled at the top of her lungs knowing her mom probably couldn't hear her correctly if She didn't.
"What? Just get down here already!" She yelled back.
Just as Carina was about to yell even louder, she quickly decided against it.
Looking around her empty room was a bit weird for her... She knew this day would come because her mom was planning on moving into a condo that was having its grand opening in two years time... Carina just never expected to be moving a driving distance of nearly three hours from Boston to New York.
Heaving a great sigh, She grabbed her lucky pair of hightop sneakers and tugged on her last blue and black suitcase only to run right back in her room.
Opening her closet, She removed a thick piece of wood on the floor, pulling out a gold locket.
Her Mom said she gave it to her since birth...
Tying it around her neck, She swiftly got up and ran back towards her suitcase. Struggling to pull it down the stairs.
"Carina, lift please! Don't drag it on the floors... We need to sell this place for a good amount, meaning it needs to be in good condition! No... Excellent condition!" Her mom was the only one She knew who would yap and yap until she would run out of things to say.
Walking past her while Carina tried to lift the heavy luggage, She counted all eight bags and put on her shoes.
"All good to go?" She asked all of a sudden.
Seems like her mom realized her run on sentences were not needed right now.
Sighing for the billionth time today, Carina nodded.
Silence took up the room, it was so thick and uncomfortable ... It made her squirm in my stance.
Switching the weight on her feet every now and then while She kept her gaze on the ground, too afraid to look upwards.
She could cry,
"Baby girl... Look I'm sorry life played you out this way... But look on the bright side? You finally get to spend quality time with your father. And you also get to make new friends and try new things... I know this town is getting to small for a big girl like you..." Her mom trailed off.
"I've raised you all my life... And I know that sometimes you feel as if something's wrong, I-" cut off from her speech, the door bell rung.
A soft single tear escaped Carina's eyes as her mind told her to take her last glance at the woman known as her very own mother.
Her mother's face seemed very hidden as if she wanted to say more but couldn't... Her face was in control... Probably trying not to seem weak in front of her dad.
