"Love isn't something you can just wish about one a shooting star.. It just comes to you, like a breath of fresh air."
Olgi could almost feel the silence that filled the room. Nothing other than the awkward clatter of silverware against plate, and the occasional murmur from the other family members to one another.
It was very tense to say the least, as delicious as Julieta's food was, it couldn't lighten the rather uncomfortable atmosphere around them, yes they didn't assume it was immediate judgement and hate from the family but who could blame them for being suspicious, there was a random stranger from outside of their village, dining with them.
Mirabel, attempting to help the mood, and because she didn't quite like Olgi being so nervous, cleared her throat, getting nearly everyone's attention, antonio was having a heated staring contest with a toucan, who the family named Oscar.
Mirabel smiled softly, albeit a bit forced, and spoke "You see, I know it may be strange but my dear friend, " Looking up after twirling her finger around the rim of her glass, and directing her gaze towards the mentioned "Olgi, is only in need of help." A sudden voice spoke out "I understand you want you friend over but... Where will they even sleep? We can't construct a house out of thin air."
A woman, with very long silky black hair, and a blue and orange stained jumpsuit replied, eyeing Olgi, not judgementally, only in a cautious manner. "I understand that isabella, thank you for your concern, I have decided they will sleep in the nursery with me." The woman, or Isabella, quirked an eyebrow at this.
An elder man, who Olgi learned was antonios father from when Mirabel earlier told him, Felix was his name? Spoke out, sighing softly at the banter between the two, as if it was normal. "Girls, please don't fight, I think we should all come to an agreement, have you even asked your friend where they wish to stay, Mirabel?" Mirabel flushed slightly, a little embarrassed, and she felt oddly ashamed that she didn't ask them. She didn't hurt their feelings did she? She sure hope she didn't.
Olgi smiled in response to that, making eye contact with the man, then Mirabel, then looking down at their plate. "Well, I don't exactly mind per say... If mirabel, or the family, want me to stay I will, if not, I won't, I am only a guest after all." Mirabel looking a little panicked, and tried to say something but was cut off by the door opening, or more slamming open, revealing an older looking man, with unruly hair, and a green poncho, and a very tall woman with... Wow. Olgi honestly admired how strong she looked, was everyone here just that attractive?
The old man looked as if he was very pleased, and was about to sit down, when he noticed Olgi. He took a step back, staring at them. "Uhhh.... Whos.. This?" He mumbled, as if he was really only talking to himself. Alma spoke smiling softly at her son "This is Mirabels new friend, they were lost, so they will be staying with us." Olgi perked up at that, yay! A place to stay. The man nodded slowly, sitting down and eating some food, he gulped and looked back at the dark haired person. "Nice to meet you." He was awkward, but they didn't see or feel anything off about him.
Suddenly, a loud thud brought their attention to the seat next to them, the woman from earlier, sitting down at the only other open seat. She muttered a soft sorry, to wich Olgi only shrugged to reassure its fine, and she began to eat. Olgi could tell they were all watching them like a hawk, but they had a right to, some of them new them for barely an afternoon, the others for not even ten minutes.
They did notice a particular stare from a curly haired boy, who she assumed was Camillo, remembering how Mirabel described him. He didn't look angry, or anything bad, just very curious, and even when they looked at him, he didn't look away, until Felix slapped the back of his head "Staring is rude, continue eating before Oscar gets it all." Camillo glared at his father before nodding, and shovelling some of the food in his mouth, only glancing up at Olgi when they, or Felix, weren't looking.
