(Ok so it's that time of the month for me and my brain is just, not functioning like it should so if there are any typos or grammatical errors or whatever, just bare with me)

Days, weeks, even months could've passed and the lovers wouldn't have known, nor would they care. Every second they spent apart from each other felt like an eternity, so time meant nothing to them. Every thought they had was of each other, and how unfair it was that the only thing keeping them from being together was a pointless feud. How did it get so bad? What made the gardens hate each other so much that the leaders couldn't even let their children be together? The Reds and Blues had hated each other for as long as they could remember, but why?

Gnomeo had been questioning that for days now. Ever since he was a child, he'd been told that the Reds were evil and he had to hate them, and he never once questioned it. He didn't ask why they were evil or why they had to be his enemy, he just believed it was true. But since meeting Juliet, he wondered why he spent his whole life hating a clan of people that were really no different from him. He wasted all those years playing cruel tricks and filling his heart with hatred that he never even stopped to ask what the point of all of it was.

And then he met Juliet, and all his hate just vanished. Suddenly he knew what happiness truly felt like, and realized that whatever grudges he held against the Reds weren't worth his time. He found what he'd been missing all his life; someone who loved him, someone who understood him and actually listened to him, someone he could be vulnerable with, someone he could laugh with, someone he could love with all his heart.

Someone he loved, but could never have.

Ever since she was taken away from him, Gnomeo hadn't stopped beating himself up with guilt and regret. He was a fool to think they could just run away and all of their problems would be solved. Of course the gardens would come looking for them. At the time he knew this, but he didn't care, and he never expected anyone to actually find them. He should've known better. But what choice did he have? If they had stayed in separate gardens, they would have to continue pretending that they were enemies and they'd hardy see each other.

But now they were in a worse situation. They were separated by force, their families deemed them as traitors, and the fighting was only going to skyrocket from here. He knew the Reds weren't going to take what he did lightly, they were bound to get revenge on him soon. Truthfully, he didn't care what they did to him. If they wanted to hurt or even kill him, that was fine by him. What actually worried him was what was going to happen to Juliet. He knew she was being punished but he didn't know how, and it scared him to think of what they could be doing to her for betraying her family.

He would've done anything to try and see her again, but unfortunately, the Blues were doing everything in their power to prevent it. The gate was always locked and the key was who knows where. It wasn't like he could climb the fence, and even if he did, someone from either side would surely catch him and he needed to avoid that at all costs.

It was difficult coming up with ideas on his own. Normally he had Benny or the bunnies and the other Blues to help him come up with his schemes. But now the tables had turned and they were the ones he was planning against. All he had left to help him was Shroom, and he had been oddly quiet ever since the incident.

After gazing up at the fence for who knows how long, Gnomeo turned his attention to the area surrounding him, realizing now that it was nighttime that everyone was either asleep or keeping to themselves. Not a word was spoken throughout the garden. Only the sounds of crickets chirping could be heard in the distance.

The thought of making a run for it crossed Gnomeo's mind. After all, this was a perfect opportunity to try. Most of the gnomes were sleeping, and the others weren't paying attention to him. Although, Benny and the bunnies could've been at the gate waiting for him to attempt something like that, and he'd rather avoid dealing with them alerting his mother. Then again, Gnomeo was pretty stealthy when he needed to be. He could sneak his way out of the garden fairly easy if he was careful about it.
