Chapter 1 - A Crazy Way To Start The Day

Chapter 1

It was half way into summer already and I found myself falling into a hole of attachment. It's weird really, craving the lust and not the love, I don't know what love is. All I know is that I want Nate Parker. His house has became my hideaway, my sanctuary away from home and he is the safety. I never wanted to sneak behind my friends' backs but I think they know what's going on, I've hinted to them blatantly about it many of times. But me and Nate have an arrangement not to tell anyone.

"Maisie?" His sweet voice whispers in my ear and shivers go right down my spine. I hum in response and open my eyes to the dark room of his where mine and his clothes lie on the floor in a mess, our legs tangled under his white bed sheets, "are you awake?"

"Well I am now..." I turn my head and look into his deep blue eyes and giggle at the state of his blond hair. He is truly beautiful. "What's the plans for today?"

He sighs deeply and pushes his nose into the crook of my neck, "honestly, I don't want to move."

"I told my mum that I'm staying over at Hunter's, you basically have me the whole day," his skin is warm on mine as I snuggle back into the duvet. It's 9 a.m. so I find myself falling back into a deep slumber with Nate's strong arms tightly around me.

As we're both waking up again I get out of the double bed, throwing my clothes from yesterday back on and get my phone out of my pocket, telling me I have 2 missed calls and 5 text messages from Dylan, my best friend.

Where are you?

M you were meant to be here 10 mins ago.

Where the fuck are you

Get here now.

Are you dead?

I shake my head in laughter and phone her, keeping myself quiet so that Nate doesn't get disturbed. Dylan picks up immediately.

"M, this isn't like you, this is the third time this holiday you've missed meeting with me and Hunter," she rambles, hitting me with all the information before I can even say hello.

"I'm sorry Dylan, I can't explain now... Why don't I tell you in 10?" I whisper and wait for a response.

"Why the hell are you whispering? Who are you with?"

"I'll explain later. See you in 10."

With that I hang up and feel my heart stop racing in panic. I stroll over to Nate and sit on the edge of the bed, planting a kiss to his lips and his eyes flutter open.

"Why don't we go to the park? I know Levi and Austin are there, Dylan and Hunter are looking for me," I get straight to the point with him because I know he doesn't care about all the details, "I assume Levi will be looking for you."

"Shit," he says under his breath and I can't help but hold back a giggle, "C'mon we better go."

"Not until you get dressed."

He looks at me as if I'm dumb and rolls out of bed as if to say 'duh', he throws the clothes that are on the floor into the washing basket and goes through his drawers for clean ones.

"Maisie, you know you have a clean top here, put that on so they don't suspect anything."

"Sure," I smile, taking my pink top out of his hands and turning round before replacing my deep blue shirt for the boring pink top.

His mum greets me as I make my way down stairs and out the front door but stops Nate on the way down.

"Nathaniel, you need to tell me when you're having friends stay over." She tries to whisper but I hear it all, I hope she didn't hear anything though.
