-The Next Day-

I woke up the next morning. My mother was still asleep so I got ready quietly and left out the house. I opened the apartment gate and walked on the sidewalk. Hey Ezra, I heard someone say. I turned around to see Danny riding his bike up to me. Hey Danny, I said. Sorry about last night those guys can be jerks, I said. No, it's fine, He said. You ok though I saw that kicked to the ribs, He said. Yea it hurts but it's bearable, I said trying to not worry him but he can tell I was lying. Lemme see, He asked? No, I'm fine, I said. No, lemme see, He said as he pulled the bottom of my shirt up and saw the big bruise on the left side of my ribs. Ezra, I'm sorry, Danny said. No it's fine you were sticking up for someone who couldn't defend themself and I was in the way it's fine, I said. But take off your glasses, I said. He took off his glasses revealing a black eye. Doesn't that hurt, I Asked? Don't worry it looks worse than it feels, Danny said. Danny wanted me to stay back after school for soccer tryouts but he didn't notice me all he did was talk to Ali I couldn't help but get jealous again. I mean why her and not me, I thought to myself. Why can't it be me instead of her, Why can't he love me instead of her, I thought to myself again. I got up and walked away to go home.

-The Next Day-

Danny wanted him and I to walk to school together every day from now on. But once we got to school he would leave me for Ali I couldn't help but feel anger but also sadness. I was in the lunchroom when Danny left me to go talk to Ali but then Freddy sat next to me. Why are you sitting alone, he asked? I'm not your sitting next to me, I said. I mean you are right, he said. What are you looking at, He asked? Nothing, I said as I get up from the lunch table and walk away.

-The Next Day-

It was the weekend and I wanted to show Daniel around town. Hey why don't you talk to me at school, Danny asked? You're always with Ali, I said. I'm not always with, Daniel said then started thinking about it. Never mind, He said. You don't have to make time for me, I said. No, I want to hang with you, He said. So tell me why the soccer team doesn't like you, He asked? Well, it's because girls aren't my type, I said. Wait so you like boys, He asked? Yep and the soccer coach kicked me off the team because he found out that me and a boy were dating and we were both on the soccer team, I said. Wow, Ezra, I'm sorry that happened to you, He said hugging me. No, it's fine, I said. We stopped beside a dojo. Hey what this, Danny asked? Danny was about to go in but I stopped him. I wouldn't go in there if I was you, I said. Why not, he asked? This Cobra Kai dojo, I said. So what's that supposed to mean, He asked? Never mind you can go in I'll stay here, I said. Ok then, He said walking into the dojo. After 2 minutes he walked out. Did you know that Danny said but then I cut him off? King karate trains there yep, I said. Danny and I walk into where his mom works at. We sat down at a table and his Mom joined us. Hi Ms.Larusso, I said shaking her hand. Who's this, She asked Danny? Ma this is Ezra, Ezra this is my ma, Danny said. Danny and his Mother talked a little and then got on the topic of girls. So got your eye on anybody, She asked Danny? He smiles and tells her about Ali. I tried to mask the sadness I felt when Danny tried to describe her. Then I accidentally shed a tear and they both stopped and looked at me. You ok Ezra, Danny asked me? Yep, I'm fine those flowers there I'm kinda allergic to, I said as a tear falls down my eye but Danny wipes it off my face and my sadness stopped and In came the butterflies. Thanks, I said. No problem, I know the feeling of allergies, He said. Then his mom started winking at Danny. C'mon ma not right now, Danny said. Then Danny's Mom had to get back to work.
