I heard the front door open and saw Katrina walk in. "COME ON GUYS!" She yelled and I saw three people walk in. Seth Borden, Josh and.... Colby. "Hiii Sam!!" She said and hugged me. "Calm down, Kat." I said with a laugh. "But you're my bestieee" She said and I chuckled. "Uhm... Hey, Sam." Colby said and I smiled a little. "Hey," I said softly and he smiled softly. "Do you know him, Sam?" Katerina asked and I just nodded. "Yeah, we've met a few times." I went to walk away but Katrina stopped me. "Hey, Sam? Me, Seth, and Josh have to clean out a few dorms today, can you hangout with Colby til we get back?" She asked and I sighed. "Sure, I don't see why not." I said and she walked out, dragging both Seth and Josh out with her.
"Uhm.. hi?-" He said and I chuckled. "Hi, Colby." I said and he smiled nervously. I suddenly felt butterflies and I smiled back. "Uhm.. do you wanna go to the living room?" He asked and I just nodded. Why am I so nervous? Why did I feel butterflies when he smiled and why did I like it so much? "Sam?.... Are you okay?.." I heard Colby ask and I nodded. "Yes! Sorry about that!" I said quickly and he laughed a little. Oh my god his laugh is so cute. I thought and he looked at me. "Well uhmm.. what do you wanna do?" He asked and I shrugged. "I don't know but I have to cook for everyone soon." I said and he hummed in response. "Could I help?.. I'm a pretty good cook. Maybe not the best but I'm much better than my sister Evan." He said and I chuckled. "Sure, I don't mind at all!" I replied and he perked up. "Really?!" He asked excitedly and I nodded with a laugh. He smiled brightly and I felt the same butterflies as I did earlier. I got up and walked to the kitchen, Colby was quick to follow.
"What should we make?-" Colby asked and I sighed. "I don't know. Uhmm.. HEY PIGS, WHAT DO Y'ALL WANT TO EAT!?" I yelled into the living room and all I heard was gasps and laughs. "Just tell me what y'all want." I said and they groaned. "Fine then, I'll just make hamburgers." I said and they nodded. I walked back to the kitchen and saw Colby sitting on the counter. "Oh, well hello again." He said with a small laugh at the end. "Hi.." I mumbled and he began to hop off the counter but I looked at him. "You can stay there for now!" I said with a smile and he just nodded a little. "I think I'll just sit here and look pretty." Colby said with a teasing voice and I couldn't help myself but to say something back. "Well, that wouldn't be hard for you to do at all." I said and he looked at me confused. "Huh?-" He asked and I chuckled. "It'd be easier for you to just sit there and look pretty because you already are." I said and he blushed then looked away.
I turned my head and saw Mike standing there. "Are you seriously flirting with Katrina's friend, Sam?" He asked and I shrugged. "Maybe, maybe not." I said and he walked out shaking his head. "Uh.. did you really mean that?" I heard Colby ask and I nodded. He hopped off the counter and walked next to me. "And what are you doing?" I asked and he scoffed. "I said I was gonna help, remember?" He asked and I chuckled. "I'd like it better if you sat on the counter and looked pretty. I can do the cooking." I said and he rolled his eyes. "I thought you said I always look pretty?" He said teasingly and I laughed a little. "How'd you know?" I asked and he chuckled. "It's called being smart, Sam." He said and I laughed. "Yeah yeah, but seriously, you don't have to help if you don't want to." I said and he looked at me. "But I wanna help~" He said with a pout and I couldn't help but blush. "Uhm.. th- that's fine!"
We finished cooking and put the plates on the coffee table. I left to go to the bathroom but then heard Mike say something to Colby. "Hey, Colby. Just wanting to let you know that Sam has feelings for you." He said and I sighed. "I don't believe that for a second." Colby responded and Devyn looked up. "Why not?" She asked and Colby sighed. "I just can't believe that, sorry." He said and walked back to the kitchen. I walked out to the kitchen and saw him sitting on the counter again. "I know you heard all that." He said and I just nodded as I stood next to him, leaning against the counter. "Hey, do you wanna hangout tomorrow?" I asked him and he looked at me. "Are you sure you wanna hangout with me?" He asked and I nodded. "Oh.. well then sure.. I guess.." He said and I smiled.
After we ate I brought Colby up to my room and he sat on my bed. "Wow, you're getting comfortable aren't you?" I asked as I sat next to him. "Yup." He said and giggled. "Well, I think Kat is back." I said and there was a knock on the door. "Colby, come on out." Seth said but Colby didn't move. "Colby just go-" I was cut off by him hugging me and I just stared at him as a blush slowly appeared on my face. "Oh? Flustered so easily?" He said in a low voice and I blushed harshly and looked away. Colby chuckled. There was another knock and he groaned. "Go awayyy!" He said and I laughed a little. "But Colby-" Seth said and Colby opened the door. "What.?" He said and Seth froze. "Ah. I see.. Come on out when you're ready!" He said and walked away. Colby closed the door and looked at me again. "Colby what was that-" I asked and he walked up to me. "What?" He asked as he grabbed my chin and gently tilted my head upwards. "Why'd you do that? I mean- aren't you here for Kat?" I asked and he inched closer. "Yes, but you're more entertaining to be around." He said in a low voice and I shivered slightly. "Uhm... Colby? Could you not flirt with my best friend?-" Katrina said and he looked over and shook his head. "Nah, it's fun." He said and I just sat there, staring at Colby.
