I let Sam in and he immediately engulfed me in a long, comforting hug. I hugged back tightly and laughed a little. "I guess she has cared all this time.. she just didn't know how to show it." I said and he nodded. He let go of me and dragged us over to his bed as he laid down. I laid on top of him and wrapped my arms around his neck as he put his arms around my back. He ran his fingers through my hair and kissed my forehead as I began drifting off to sleep.
"Colby? Colby!" My mom said and I jumped a little as she sat next to me. "Guess what? You're safe now..." She said and I smiled a little. "Thanks, Mom.." I muttered and she smiled. "Oh, and I have a surprise for you. But you have to wait a few days." She said and I chuckled. "Fine by me." I said with a smile. It's funny how she changed so quickly, I hope it stays like this. My mom smiled at Sam and then sighed. "I'm sorry Colby... for everything I've done.. I just.. I couldn't get over your father and I just wanted him back so we could be a family again.." She said and I smiled a little. "It's fine, mom.." I muttered. I loved her so much, and I'm glad she apologized. "And Sam, please take care of him. His 'boyfriend' will try to make his life a living hell, but please, don't allow him to." My mom said and Sam nodded. "Of course, Mrs. Brock!" He said, I smiled and kissed his neck before falling asleep again.
