Chapter 3 Alive !M

A day has passed since Shinobu drugged you and threw you into that room, you forgave her and forget about it ever happened like that day never existed. But what you did remember was that demon that nearly made you into a midnight snack, you calmed yourself and told yourself;
"Shinobu definitely laid that demon out to dry. And she stated that it won't hurt me again. So It's all alright." You said with nice long inhale and exhale.

"Talking to yourself?" Shinobu announced herself who was standing behind you. "Yes... I'm talking to myself about that demon nearly made me into a snack a few days ago."
"Well, now you know that going outside is dangerous. If I lost you, I won't truly smile again...ever... you are all what's left of my happiness." She said looking down, her face is almost into a frown.
You empathize with her. Pulling her right next to you then you give her a very gentle head pat.

"I mustn't lose you like I lost my sister to those demon monsters..." she said gently holding your wrist. "Please... don't leave me like that again..."   hearing that made you guilty for your actions. "I won't..." you assured, she laid against you upon hearing that.

You sat with Shinobu for a while. She is snuggling against you with your hand still stroking her hair, Looking at the butterflies that fluttered around the estate. You turned to look at her.
"She looks so peaceful..." you thought as you smiled at her.    You leaned forward to look her in the eyes.  She is asleep...
You blushed and you enjoyed the silence.

A voice broke the silence.
"Y/n, I need you to fold and put away these clean blankets aw-"
You quickly turned to see Aoi who was standing at the corner of the corridor.
You stare at her for a moment then you turned to Shinobu who is asleep, then immediately got flustered because she is leaning on you. "I-"
"Shhh, you'll wake her up." Aoi said putting her finger on lips.
"Whenever you are... done... I need you to fold these clean blankets and put them away accordingly." She said then turning away and walking back into the corridor.

Embarrassed, you turned to Shinobu, who is still asleep and you nudged her to wake up.
"Five more minutes..." she muttered.
"This cannot wait, I have been assigned a task. So I'm sorry." You said as you continued to nudge her.

"Y/n, are you trying to leave me?" Shinobu snapped a glare at you. "Eh? I'm just going to fold some blankets, I'm not gonna leave the estate." You began to sweat as Shinobu's eyes burrowed into yours. You felt your soul start to leave your body as you remembered the look she is giving you right now. "I'll let you off to get your work settled, but if you do anything otherwise without my knowledge..." she said as her tone got darker. Then she put her finger on her cheek. "no, you won't I'm sure of it." She said with a smile as she began to stand up her eyes still locked onto yours.

"Besides, I have work on my part too. So... see you soon~" she said turning around and walking off. As she made her way to the corner and began to turn, you saw her purple eye almost obscured by her hair. You are sweating raindrops at this point, but you managed to toughen up and stood up and made your way to the laundry room.

You slid open the doors to the laundry room sighing at the sight of the piles of laundry that you have to fold. Folding it was ok, but it can get repetitive over time. You day dreamed while working, then you thought about the confession that you made to Shinobu and it made you embarrassed. "AHHHH!!!! THAT HAD TO THE WORST CONFESSION MOMENT IN HISTORY!!!! Including the fact that was in the moment of me get my ass beatened! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!"You thought in your head as you worked faster due to embarrassment.

Noticing that you are finished in record time, you left the laundry room to go to your room. But on the the way there you noticed Shinobu in her lab working on something, also you noticed that she was mumbling to herself. Something told you not to disturb her, but you went inside her lab immediately catching her attention. "Oh! Y/n! What brings you here?" She asked standing up and turning to you.
"Can I ask on what are you making?" You pointed toward the vital, Shinobu turned to the vital picking it up.
"Oh? This? Just a side project." She said with a small giggle. "That doesn't really answer my question, Shinobu."

"Just a...concoction of a wisteria and herbs I collected to make for the demons. It's nearly finished and I'm gonna test it, soon..." you turned your head away "Is poison really gonna solve every problem? I mean sure, it kills the demons. But I wish there was another way..."
Shinobu puts down the vital and walks towards you, putting her hand on your cheek. "Poison is what keeps people alive. And it what's protecting you from them." You frowned but agreed with her, she lets go of your cheek and hugs you. "You do not need to worry about the demons as long you remain here in the butterfly estate." You rested your head on hers and returned the hug.

After leaving her lab, you began to wonder...
"Is being isolated from life really an answer to about the problems in life? I need to be alive..." In order to do that, you have to be outside of the estate and it's gonna make Shinobu very angry if she finds out. You need a plan...

"This is gonna suck..." you muttered
