Jimin wished that he could say that he'd been courageous. He wished that he found some kind of workaround so he had a way to communicate with Dahyun, or at least tell her the truth. Instead, he moped about, and did his best to hide the fact that he was, indeed, moping about.
If anything, he had somehow become even more cowardly. The thought of wanting to protect her was also what repelled him from her. He couldn't allow himself to be the reason of her career downfall. She once drew him towards the park and the library, but now he avoided these spots at all costs.
The memories of her smile used to bring him feelings of warmth and happiness. Now, they frightened him. He wished that he didn't think of her at all. So he focused on his career, spent extra time in the practice room, and spent more time with his group - anything, in attempts to try and push her out of his head. It pained him, but he wanted to forget about her. In the rare days that Dahyun escaped his mind, he was content. Not happy, but content. And he was okay with that.
But Jungkook inadvertently, and single-handedly, made sure that Jimin couldn't truly forget her, even months later. He lost count of how many times they played TWICE's debut video on the television. 'Like Ooh Ahh' was an adorable song, almost sickeningly cute, and was so catchy that Jimin regularly found himself humming the song when he was alone. He had no doubt that they would become very popular in the future. They had talent, and they attracted people in a way that was unique to what the rest of the industry had.
Jimin was okay with being a bit bored again, but he was pleasantly surprised when Namjoon announced that he accepted an outing invitation from GOT7. BTS wasn't short on friends, but GOT7, Jackson Wang particularly, was always enthusiastic about inviting the popular group out to dinner. It was very occasional because it was always hard to find a time where all of the members could attend, but they always had a good time when they managed to get together. The members of GOT7 were jovial and sociable, and to say the least, hanging out with them was a breath of fresh air.
Jimin, Yoongi and Taehyung rode with Jin, who dramatically sang along to the song that played on the radio. Just as he was about to belt a high note, Yoongi placed a hand on his shoulder in a gentle plea for silence. He grimaced before turning to Jin, "I thought we were just going to dinner."
"We are."
"Then why did Jaebeom just message and tell me about how he had a really hard time booking a private room?" He put down his phone and looked out the window before grimacing. "We eat here a lot and he's never done that before."
"Oh. Their little sisters are coming."
The words that came out of Jin's mouth came out in a way that was so casual, as if it was something that was supposed to be considered small. Jimin sat up straighter when it dawned on him that GOT7 was under JYP.
Yoongi asked for an elaboration, and Jin was only happy to reply. "The new JYP girl group, the one that Jungkook listens to a lot. What's the group name again, Once?"
"Twice," Taehyung corrected.
"Thrice?" Jin's smile didn't hide his playfulness as he elicited eye rolls from all of the other occupants of the car.
As the other members talked about the newly formed girl group, Jimin simmered in his nervousness. He was glad to see her again, and knowing that Jaebeom had booked a private room for all of them was reassuring. If anyone else understood the struggles of having female friends as a male idol, it was GOT7.
When they arrived, the hostess was quick to escort them to the appropriate room. The room matched the fancy atmosphere of the rest of the restaurant, with dim lightning and soft music. Laughter resounded in the room, and based on the quantity of people, Jin's car was the last to arrive. There were six tables around the room, all of which sat four people.
