TW: Use of homophobic slur
Lando's POV:
These words hit me like a punch to the gut. Even though they weren't directed towards me, it seemed like they'd hurt me in some way.
The words evidently hit Oscar very hard too, as he was staring blankly towards Charles. I would say he was staring at him, but he seemed to be staring a hole straight through him.
Oscar didn't move for at least 10 seconds. This honestly scared me. I needed to know he was ok. I didn't know why I felt like I needed to know, I just did.
I walked in front of Oscar and put my hands on his shoulders. I shook him a bit, but he didn't react. This caused me to panic. I was now desperate to know that Oscar was ok. I had almost completely zoned out, as Oscar was my only focus.
"Are you ok?" I screamed this, and Oscar didn't react. I started to feel an even larger state of panic coming on. I didn't know why he wasn't reacting, and this scared me more than anything. I shook Oscar again, and he didn't react.
"Oscar. Listen to me. Are you ok?" I was completely terrified. I'd never seen someone with the stone cold expression that Oscar portrayed in this moment. At least up until now.
It seemed like something clicked in Oscar's body, as he appeared to come back to himself. I saw him look around, before he looked at Charles again. This evidently angered Oscar, as his eyes turned to slits and his fists clenched.
He then spoke up for the first time in about a minute, in an almost loud whisper. What he said was in French, so I didn't know what he said. I just knew it probably wasn't a compliment.
After he spoke, he turned around and stomped towards the club doors. I reached for his hands and grabbed one of them, trying to hold onto it and stop him. This effort failed though, as Oscar continued to walk.
Before I followed Oscar outside, I turned to Charles and told him what I was thinking.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? You know he's hurting after his race, why would you say that, in any situation?"
When I arrived at the doors, Oscar had already nearly gone through them. His hands were still clenched fists at his side, so I thought he must have just walked into it. When I walked out, the door swung back and hit me. I tried to stop it, but I was unsuccessful. I cursed under my breath out of pain and frustration. This frustration also caused me to walk faster.
I followed Oscar to his car, and jumped when I heard him slam the driver's door. I walked to the passenger's door and tried to open it. When this didn't work I tried again. And again. And again.
When I finally realized the door was locked, I thought to myself about how I could keep Oscar from leaving so he'd let me in. I decided to be stupid, and walk in front of the car. Yes, it was dangerous, but I knew it would stop Oscar from driving away. I pounded my hands on the hood and stared a hole through Oscar. I was extremely frustrated, but I also wanted to help him.
"Let. Me. In. Oscar. Now." I screamed this through my gritted teeth. I could tell that Oscar had gotten the message though, because he rolled his eyes.
He then revved the engine, I presumed in an attempt to scare me off, but that wasn't going to happen. I wasn't going to leave unless we both did.
"Fuck off Lando. Just go back inside. You don't always have to be the nice guy. Just leave me alone." Oscar screamed this, loud enough to where his words were crystal clear, even through the windshield of the car. I wanted to get angry at him, but I knew that wasn't going to help me in this situation. It was just going to make him hate me even more. Still though, I was angry, and I threw my head back and screamed in rage.
