I attacked the Wendigo with a newfound confidence, one that I hadn't felt in long, long time. Scott hadn't just turned the tide of this fight, he'd made the impossible possible. Knowing that the Wendigo could be killed, I started to hit them a little harder, sink my claws in a little deeper every time. We fought our way over to Derek, and told him about our new "discovery".
"Derek! Derek!" I said breathlessly as Scott and Peter fought off two Wendigos. "Derek, I need to talk to you!" He got cracked right in the face by a Wendigo, and then the monster raked its claws across his already bleeding abdomen. But Derek took it in stride, spinning on his heel and delivering a thunderous kick to the Wendigo's collarbone. He let out a fearless roar as he turned to face me.
"Now is not a good time, kid!" he growled. I took a deep breath before I responded.
"Derek, these things can be killed! We can win this!" His red eyes widened, and his lower jaw dropped just a little bit. I knew I had surprised him. "Look out!" I shouted at exactly the same time as he did. We both blew past each other, moving towards the Wendigo at each other's backs. I landed a solid punch right to its throat, and two more to its ribs for good measure.
"How?" Derek asked, and I saw his bones knitting from where the Wendigo had hit him.
"Something with their faces, if you get in a clean shot, one that could break their bones; they won't seem to get up. That one-" but I stopped and looked where I was pointing; instead of a Wendigo's rotting body, there was only the grass, painted with a grayish overcoat from the light of the moon.
"Is there a reason you two have stopped to chat?!?!?" Cora shrieked as she ducked under a two-handed punch from a Wendigo.
"They can be killed, Cora!" Scott shouted from somewhere to my left. Just then, the bent tree that Derek and I had kicked a Wendigo into gave out with a loud crack, and landed in the soft dirt with a deep thud. Derek lept over to it, and sank his claws into the rough bark. His jaw muscles clenched, and the veins rippled out all over his arms as he struggled to lift the fallen tree. He growled and roared as the rest of us fought of the Wendigos trying to stop him.
"GET DOWN!!!" He yelled, and I dropped to the forest floor. "RRRRRAAAGGHH!!!!" Derek growled as he swung the tree sideways. The thick trunk slammed into one Wendigo, and then he let it go into the other trees. It smashed into them, breaking down a few more. I could see a couple of its arms and its legs sticking out from under the tree, and knew it had to be dead.
And I knew, right then and there, that we were going to win.

Werewolves and Wendigos
FanfictionIt's a Teen Wolf fanfic about Werewolves and Wendigos. I finished writing it about a year ago. It's the first story I ever wrote, which is why the "cover" is a number one. Granted, I hate that show now, but I wrote this at a time when I enjoyed it. ...
