Nightmares are Lyns's worse fear... well, that, and clowns. But clowns were just fucking creepy. She hasn't met one person in her life that wasn't afraid of the fuckin' things. But that's besides the point.
Lyn is woken up some odd hours later, by a nightmare. She sits up quickly, her chest heaving, as if she was running a marathon. She roughly swallows and looks around the dark room. She furrows her eyebrows and raises up a hand to push the hair out of her eyes. She looks down at the floor, where she's sleeping at, and sees Gerard sleeping soundly beside her. Lyn chews on her lip and scratches the back of her neck. When had he been there?
She shakes her head and blows air out from between her cheeks. She pushes her blanket off of her and stands up, her knees almost giving way. She winces as she straightens up. She sighs and runs a hand through her hair. She can feel a cold sweat travel down her back.
Lyn walks across the room, towards the clock on Gerard's desk. She narrows her eyes, seeing that it was three thirty in the morning. Lyn lets out a dry laugh before shaking her head. She licks her lips before going into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
After relieving herself of the pee she didn't know she was holding, Lyn looks at herself in the mirror. She has dark circles under her eyes, and she looks like she had just seen a ghost, the paleness of her skin giving that impression. She furrows her eyebrows and shakes her head. She lowers it, holding her head in her hands. "It was just a dream," she mutters. "Just a dream."
Hands had been grabbing at Lyn, pulling her away from... well, from someone who she doesn't want to mention right now. They were trying to take her away from.. that someone. No matter how hard she tried to escape their grips, they had ended up succeeding.
Lyn lets out an angry breath before slipping out of the bathroom, pulling up the loose sweatpants when she cracked the door behind her. She glances at Gerard before carefully walking over to the sleeping figure. She crouches down and reaches out a hand, poking at his shoulder. "Gerard," she says quietly. "Gerard, um, I'm thirsty... and you don't have any cups in the bathroom." She pauses for a second before poking his shoulder again. "I'm going upstairs."
And with that, Lyn stands up straighter and heads up the stairs, the first time she's done so since she'd been captured.
When the brunette slides through the bedroom door that Gerard always keeps closed, she instantly gets the scent of candles hitting her in the face. She breathes in, smiling slightly. She wonders why Gerard doesn't open the door every once in a while when he's at school. The candle smell could drift down there.
Lyn cautiously walks through the house, wrapping her arms around herself. The house itself is small, but it gives you the sense of protection and comfort. Lyn admits that she likes it. She wonders into the living room for a second, looking around carefully. She bites back a smile before continuing to walk, seeing the kitchen. She swallows and goes over to one of the cabinets, opening it up. She stands on her tiptoes and peers inside. She reaches out a hand, taking one of the glasses from the shelf.
She walks over to the sink, then, trying to be as quiet as possible. She doesn't want Gerard's mother to wake up, and see her. That would just be a bad situation, and she knows Gerard would get mad. She shakes her head, wanting the bad thoughts to get out of her head.
She turns on the faucet carefully, not wanting the sudden sound of water to rush out. She holds her glass under the running water, filling it up to about half-way. She reaches out her free hand, turning off the faucet. She pulls the glass closer to her, holding it in two hands. She lifts it up to her lips, taking a long drink. She swallows, pulling the glass back. She smiles, the lingering effects of the nightmare soon disappearing.
