As if Buneary wasn't totally attached to you, it seems Lopunny's affection for you has tripled. She never leaves your side, never does anything without you, always wants you in her sights.
You've never seen such a... clingy Pokémon. Not that it's a bad thing. At the very least she's constantly proving your parents wrong about how Pokémon are dangerous killers.
You've discovered she likes to dance. Sometimes Lopunny will surprise you with a spin, or she'll take your hand and twirl with you. She's like a ballerina, graceful and loose and always on her feet. It's amusing, to say the least.
While you're sitting in the living room, Lopunny seated next to you with her body glued to your shoulder, you feel your phone vibrate in your pocket. Lopunny reacts before you, peeling away for a moment to survey the noise. She's all too alert, as if ensuring there's no danger present.
"Just my phone," you say, pulling it out of its pocket. On the top of the screen reads a name in bold letters: Ian. "Ian? Haven't spoken to him in a while."
Lopunny makes a quiet noise of confusion as she watches you accept the call and raise the little device to your ear.
"Ian! What's up?" A smile is carved onto your face.
"Hey," says the boy's voice. "Sorry I haven't called you in a while. Or texted, for that matter. Things have been busy."
Lopunny leans into your face, poking her head in between you and the phone. You laugh a little at the gesture, nuzzling her cheek with your nose—although something tells you she wasn't acting for attention.
You switch ears, talking into the phone again. "Don't worry, Ian. As long as you're well, I'm not worried about any calls or texts."
"Yeah, I've been alright. Got this whole week to myself since my parents are out of town for work. I was actually wondering if you wanted to visit."
You poke your mind at the thought. You haven't visited any of your friends in a while. And beyond just that, you've never visited anyone with a Pokémon of your own.
"I'd love to," you reply, grinning. "I've got someone I want you to meet, actually."
Lopunny's ears perk up. She tries separating you from the phone.
"Oh yeah?" Ian says. "Got yourself a special someone? Couldn't be a Pokémon. Everyone knows your parents would riot against an army of Pangoros."
You laugh, not only because of his mostly-true joke, but because he's so wrong. You can only imagine what face he'll make when you walk in with Lopunny by your side.
"Right, right." You clear your throat. "Give me about a half hour. I'll be over. Better have snacks!"
"In your dreams." And then Ian hangs up.
