As summer came to an end, it was finally that time of year when the witches and wizards of Hogwarts were gathered back to the castle. Harry Potter, couldn't wait because he was stuck with the Dursleys, yet again. His parents had died when a wizard named Voldemort thought he could gain enough power to slowly take over the wizarding world.
As Voldemort obtained more followers, he gained more power. And killed as well as took people away from their families but it wasn't enough. One fine evening on October 31, 1981, he arrived at the Potter's house murdering Harry's parents.
Through their love for him, Harry, however, survived and was only left with a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt. This story spread throughout this world and became a topic spoken about for many years to come.
Harry Potter was later dropped off at the only relatives he had alive's house. Mr. and Mrs. Dursley along with their only son, Dudley lived at 4 Privet Drive, Surrey.
They hated everything to do with magic, so when Harry was dropped off on their front doorstep, they raised him very poorly and kept everything secret.
He lived with them for eleven years when he finally received his first letter from Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry. Sadly, this was taken away from him by Uncle Vernon and he did not explain why.
He took the whole family (including Dudley, Petunia, and Harry) to an area where he felt they would get no more letters. To their surprise, he was right, and instead, they received an unexpected visit from a wizard named Hagrid.
Hagrid brought Harry to Diagon Alley, there, he bought all of his school essentials and even got an owl he named Hedwig as a gift for his eleventh birthday (by Hagrid).
He made his way with his trolley to the train station platform, nine and three quarters. Little did Harry know, this was about to be the adventure of a lifetime.
On the train, he met a boy named Ronald Weasley and a girl named Hermione Granger. They later turned out to be his best friends and would eventually do everything together.
