Harry was spending yet another summer with the Dursleys. He had bright green eyes, bushy black hair, knobbly knees, and wore round black glasses. He was also still quite thin for his age even though he wasn't "necessarily" starved.
Harry was thinking about his friends and how amazing it was going to feel to be back at Hogwarts when...his mind trailed off. He'd slowly started thinking about none other than "Malfoy!" Harry said with a shocked but slightly flustered expression. He was disgusted with himself and tried to clear his mind by doing homework.
After about an hour, it happened again. Potter grunted and looked at the time, it was 1:35 a.m. and it was his birthday, he was turning fifteen this year. His birthdays weren't exactly what you would call "fun". Being with the Dursleys was extremely aggravating and he always felt useless when around them.
Hedwig had been gone for about a day when another owl flew in. "Swoosh". He heard the flapping wings of a bird he knew not to be Hedwig.
Just like every year, he would receive a letter from Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry. And each time there was a letter with all the things he would need for that specific school year. Right after another owl flew in, and this time it was her.
Hedwig carried a few packages and letters which were from Hermione, Ron, Sirius, and Hagrid, Potter supposed they were birthday presents. He got a few chocolate frogs, Bertie Botts, a few books on cool new Quidditch tricks, a penknife, and a remembrall. Harry didn't quite know what he would need a remembrall for. But since it was from Hagrid, he didn't think much of it.
Harry somehow got out of the Dursley's house unnoticed, in the morning of the next day. (Harry's mind off of Malfoy for now) He was being picked up by the Weasleys and being driven to Diagon Alley. As Harry got in, Ron said "Hey Harry!" and Harry said "Hullo Ron!" back.
The whole way there, everyone was talking to each other. Once they arrived, they met up with Hermione and they shared smiles. He got knuts, sickles, and galleons from Gringotts and bought everything he needed for that school year.
Hermione was just beginning to say something when everything went blurry. And Harry found himself on top of the very person he dreaded seeing every year.
