"Alexzander! Wake up!" I heard my mom call.

"Five more minutes..." I groan; rolling over into my sheets and covering my head with my lavender pillow.

"Alex..you have to get ready. Or else you're going to be late for your first day of Kindergarten!" She says as she walks in, ripping the sheets off from on top of me.

"Mama! I said five more minutes!" I yell while keeping my eyes closed shut.

She sighs and begins to smirk, "I made your favorite~! Grape juice and french toast!"

"Stop trying to bribe me... I'm not going!!" I mutter, but this time, I glare at her with my eyes open.

She kneels down, "Sweetie..what's wrong? Are you nervous?" she says with a gentle tone.

I stay silent as I sit upwards on the bedspread my head held down, but my eyes gazing into hers.

"Darling..you don't need to be scared, I'm gonna drive you today, only this once, but I don't want you to miss out. Maybe there are some other kids who like piano or music like you!"

"But what if they think I'm..weird? Like the kids in daycare..?" I whisper.

"I guarantee that won't happen, I bet you'll make a friend," she says, putting her cold hand on my cheek.

I smile, "Okay..let's go."

She smiles back, "That's the spirit! Let's go pick out an outfit."

...

"Well, how do you like it?" Mom asks, looking very excited.

"It's a little itchy, but I'll get used to it," I say, scratching my back.

Mom decided to choose a lavender turtleneck, along with some beige pants and some brown shoes. It was very uncomfortable, but I didn't want to upset her, so I decided to just keep it on.

"I'm glad you like it." She beams, standing up and opening the door, "Come down for breakfast when you're done brushing your teeth and hair."

I nod and she closes the door and I walk over to the granite counters in my bathroom. I grab my toothbrush and toothpaste, and then I began to hum a song I was learning in my weekly piano lessons.

When I finish, I rinse off my face and walk down the stairs, where I see my dad reading the newspaper, legs on the table, and glasses on.

"Good Morning Papa!" I greet him giving him a big bear hug.

"Hey buddy, excited for your first day?" he asks while hugging me back.

I nod and sit down and begin to watch mom cook breakfast, every move was always so graceful. Whether it is flipping a pancake or squirting some ketchup, it was awesome to watch her do her magic.

"Is it almost ready, mama?" I say chipper.

"You're right in time!" she exclaims, carrying the plates over in her iconic white (stained) apron.

"Yay!" I say, grabbing the syrup and pouring it all over the buttery, cooked bread.

"Woah! Alow down tiger!" Dad exclaims, closing up the newspaper.

"Aww, but it's so yummy with a lot of syrup!" I giggle.

"Yeah, until the sugar witches come and curse you with a tummy ache!" He says as lunges to tickle me.

Mama giggled. "Okay you two, eat up!"

We both sit back up and start munching on the food, having an exciting conversation.

If only things could've stayed that way.

Yay! I've gained more motivation, I'm planning on updating this book weekly, (fingers crossed!) but I'll also continue my other books as always, but probably not as often. Don't worry, I'm writing!
