"Good morning Zander!" Hailey greeted me as I walked down the wooden stairs, my hand grazing the smooth, shiny railing.
"Good morning Hailey." I greet her back, sitting down on the barstool and pulling out my phone.
"You're glued to that thing so much recently, is something on your mind?" She asks, sitting down next to me with her bowl of cereal.
No answer."Alexzander!" She exclaims, slamming phone down on the granite counter.
"The fuck was that for?!" I yell at her.
"You weren't listening to me. How else do you expect me to get your attention?" She sighs, "Is something on your mind? You have been on your phone a lot the past few days."
"..she can't know.." I thought
"No. Nothings wrong. Promise." I quickly said as I "cross" my heart.
"Okay then. Any plans for you today?"
I nod, "Going out with Luke in a bit.." I blush a little at the thought.
"Aww, okay. Jake is gonna come over anyway." She responded, showing no emotion while stirring her half-eaten cereal.
"WHAT?!" I exclaim.
"Zander, the competition is in less than two weeks, we need to practice!" She whines.
"God. You know I hate when he's around me. Make sure he's gone by the time I get back." I grumble, standing up and walking to the door.
"Have fun." She says, chewing her food.
I walk out the door to see Luke there, waiting for me.
"O-Oh! Sorry! Were you waiting long?"
He smiles, "I actually just got here. And I wouldn't have minded waiting."
I smile back.
"Thank God. That would've been embarrassing.." I thought.
"Well, shall we go?" He gives me his hand.
"Where are we going anyways?" I ask, taking it.
"I was thinking the mall?"
My eyes lit up, "Yes, please!! I mean..sure, why not."
He giggles as I feel my face warming up. "L-Let's go already!"
