One

Jen and I were on our way to California. We started making our plans to live here in grade 9. I never imagined it to come true. The summer was good but I'm glad it's August and I'll be starting cosmetology school soon. Jen is starting classes at the university near our new apartment. We already have all our things at our apartment but this is our final trip to stay.

Finally after almost 2 weeks everything has been purchased and unpacked that was a need for our new home. We still have lots of work to do but not loads of cash to get it done so over time our home will be perfect. I miss my family very much but having Jen living with me helps so much.

"Cam I'm going to walk to the store, you wanna come?"

"Yeah, that's the one thing I love about our new home it's within walking distance of the store," I say sounding very nerdy.

"Well let's get walking then."

We are keeping a steady pace when suddenly Jen almost falls and breaks her face, as she would say. We dive into a bottomless pit of laughter, laughing for what seems like hours when a stranger approaches us.

"So what's so funny? I could hear you two laughing from inside." He says pointing to the large house we are in front of.

"Oh nothing." I say casually.

"Sorry for asking then, stop laughing up the sidewalk in front of my house then," He says angrily or maybe sarcastically.

"Oh no we're so sorry. Cami was just trying to be sarcastic, which she is horrible at," Jen says.

"Haha I was kidding with you guys, I'm not angry. Laugh outside my house all you want. I love the sight of that beautiful girl laughing," He says with his eyes focused on me.

"Well that beautiful girl's name is Cami and I'm Jen. Very nice to meet you, sorry she's a little shy," She says.

"No problem. Nice to meet you two too. I'm Matty. Maybe you guys should come to our party tomorrow. How's that sound?" he says smiling. I have to admit this stranger has a smile that seeing can just make you happy.

"Well be there! Right Cami?"

"Uhm yeah.." I say unsure.
