A special welcome tour short to the weird but lovable city of Emshurst. Some stay away because of odd rumors of things happening there, and others come running because of it. Which one will you be? Take the tour and decide!

"We are currently in 'Newtown'. Newtown South to be exact. Newtown is split into North and South by the highway and a portion of the Emerson River, a tributary of the much larger Squannock River that wraps around the town."
He gestured to their general directions. Any visitor should know that the city was roughly split in 4 ways by its geography and corresponding architecture. The 88 interstate was a suspended highway that snaked through the center of the city, splitting it nearly down the middle, North and South. It was the only way in or out of the city, by car. The Western half of town was originally founded near the mouth of the Emerson River. That same tributary now passed in a diagonal line, marking the newest developments of town.
The source of the modest river was the much wider Squannock, which came from past the town in the neighboring mountains and wrapped around the western portion. On the opposite bank was the easternmost section, which used to be its own independent town. The highway became the bridge between the two halves once completed and the two settlements decided to join together, although those who lived on the East side tended to keep to themselves.
"Here in South we have the Welcome Center, Newtown High- ah there it is to our left now."
Angelo pointed to the group's left where the High School was a hive of activity. Students being picked up or dropped off for after school activities, the field was awash in lights. It looked like there was a match taking place. All of the schools in Emshurst were in a modern style, the original schoolhouses demolished long ago for more housing. He licked his lips before continuing.
"The entrance to Emmers Mall is viewable just behind those condos, with Money Street- our shopping and financial area, behind the mall. Young adult residents often get modern apartments and starter homes here. The UE hospital, which we're walking towards now, is considered in South, even though it connects to the campus. Unless anyone has any sudden injuries, I don't think we need to visit the hospital, yes? Although Emshurst's private residential insurance puts most European nations to shame."
Another amicable grin. With small chuckles from the group. There was no need to add that many clinical trials were regularly conducted at the UEH, with patients seemingly disappearing and reappearing weeks later slightly *off*... or coming back only in body bags. They passed the looming shadow of the city's waste management center and continued towards the hospital. Angelo would wrap up his breakdown of Newtown here, before they proceeded to the next district.
"Newtown is also the only part of the city where franchises are allowed, with the exception of the UE campus."

"North has the elementary and middle school, larger contemporary homes, and the telecommunications buildings-"
Angelo rolled his hand in a circle, a 'yadda yadda' motion. Newtown was, in reality, the main hub for free human business in Emshurst. The two halves were often shortened by locals into 'Neuse' (South) and 'Norse' (North) in their lingua franca. Those like Angelo were not generally allowed in this area, save tours like this and to leave the city by its own highway. So he did not concern himself with the intimate details of their business, not as long as the lights were on and the internet was fast.
It was part of an agreement called Pandora's Pact. The Pact was an agreement that generally kept the various factions of the city to their respective 'turfs', although the occasional skirmish or slip up did indeed occur... and those were usually met with force, when caught. It was impossible to keep track of everyone and everything after all.
