Regan Myers
I can't believe it! Me! A fucking lawyer, obeyer of the law. Convicted for the murder of my girlfriend, why would I kill my girlfriend.
She is the— she was the light of my life, I'm still not used to that. Referring to her as gone, It feels like there's a ginormous hole in my heart.
Kadie was my other half I couldn't imagine life without her, but now I have to live through it in a grimy, old, rusty jail cell with an actual murderer!!!
When I was being escorted to my cell by 2 armed guards, I asked about my cellmate since I wanted some sort of idea of who I was spending the next month with.
I regretted asking when they told me what she was in for, My new cellmate had finalized the divorce with her late husband, broke into his house, and killed him by stabbing him repeatedly.
When we had reached my cell I was horrified.
Sierra (that's the name of my cellmate) had a buzzcut, scars all over her dark skin, and a death glare that never left her face.
Since Sierra was in the courtyard, I have the cell to myself right now, and I wasn't permitted to leave the cell yet.
That was a blessing in disguise, I caught a glimpse of the other inmates while I was being escorted to my cell.
I pulled at the navy blue short sleeve shirt I was given, it was an uncomfortable fabric I wasn't used to wearing.
The sweatpants were the same colour as the shirt and the jail logo was on the right pocket of the sweatpants, the last week has just been a blur.
I had gone up to my attic to find a book I wanted to lend to a colleague and there on the floor was Kadie.
My beautiful girlfriend was covered in blood, she didn't have a pulse, and rot had filled the room.
The next thing I knew there were cops banding on my door, my wrists in cold tight handcuffs, and watching Kadie's limb blood-covered body get carried out of my house.
I shook my head, It wasn't the time for flashbacks. I needed to get some sleep if I was going to make it through the next month.
