Samira Waterstone please come with me. Samira walked with her principal to the office.

Samira the hospital called your Grandma has been admitted she's okay she has pneumonia she's sending your aunt to stay with you while she's inside.

Aunt? Yes your aunt Josephine Waterstone. Okay. I'm dismissing you early to go to your grandma and giving you two weeks off from school. Take your home school laptop your teacher's will be sending your assignments and checking on you.

Thank you. You're welcome Samira and I'm praying for Ma Ruby she is such a beautiful person. Thank you.

Samira drove to the hospital with her learner's permit, she made sure to use hospital parking to not get a ticket.

She went to see her grandma who was sleep when she woke Samira was next to her.

Baby hi grandma is going to be okay but they are keeping me here until my lung's clear I have pneumonia. You know how I've going in the attic baby? Yes Noni.

I need you to keep the fire burning do not let it go out. Use your hand turn the eggs two times a day every day morning night do not miss a day understand? Eggs? Noni?

Yes baby do I instruct please our legacy depends on it. Legacy? Noni! She yelled she's asleep baby the nurse advised.

Go home baby we will call you in the morning or you call us.

Samira went home straight to the attic it was cozy and warm. The fire was going out she fed it with Fire wood.

The number three was on the wood holder so Samira only put in three pieces of wood.

The eggs had strange markings on the round swirls embedded in the shells. Samira touched an egg it lit at her touch the various swirls and patterns getting warm at her finger tips. The eggs were beautiful Samira smiled looking at the six eggs turning them as her grandma said. When she was done she walked the attic looking at the maps and drawings on the walls.

They looked old ancient even the was a large 14 x 14 large leather bound book Samira touched the lock and the book popped open.

She turned the old wrinkled pages slow not understanding one word in front of her she tried Google..nothing not even an origin of the language. She stared at the maps cross referencing with an online search nothing no match no place on earth.

What the fuck! She yelled the eggs rattled and lit when she screamed. Sorry...whatever you are in there.

Samira lay on a twin bed her Noni had upstairs resting she cuddled under the vintage patchwork quilt staring at the beautiful eggs falling fast asleep.
