The week slipped by and suddenly it was Friday. Great. Today is Charlie's date with Grayson. Why?! Dude, get over yourself. The girls you reject cry less than you do. Learn to toughen up. At least there's no school today. I picked up my phone and texted Scarlett.
Hunter:
Hey
Scarlett:
Hi
Hunter:
I'm coming over
Scarlett:
Don't take long
I decided that I'll finally tell her my secret. I haven't even told Will, but Scarlett deserves to know. I tuck my phone into my pocket then start the car.
...
When I arrive at Scarlett's house, she's waiting for me on her porch. She opens the car door and slips in the passenger's seat.
"Where are we headed?"
"A good place to see the sunset."
"Alright."
...
I park the car near a clearing in a wooded area. Scarlett pulls me up to the branch beside her. When we're comfortable I spill the secret.
"I'm gay."
"Why are you telling me now?"
"You deserve to know."
"If we're making confessions there's something I need to tell you too.".
"What?"
"I'm gay."
"Well, that makes two of us."
"Are you mad at Charlie?"
"Why do you ask?"
"You clearly have a crush on Grayson."
The shock nearly caused me to tumble off the tree.
"How'd you find out?!"
"I'm not stupid. I connected the bits of the puzzle. You getting upset the day Grayson joins are group and starts crushing on Charlie. Then you telling me you're gay."
"Oh."
"Yeah. I'm not as dense as you are."
"Scarlett?"
"What?"
"Have you had your first kiss?"
"No. You?"
"No."
"How? There's lots of pretty girls at school."
"Because they're stupid and or have no personality."
"You're pretty cold yourself."
"I know, but they're airheads and have never had a thought of their own. I want a girl who can support herself and isn't a complete moron."
"That makes sense."
"Why haven't you?"
"They care too much about themselves to care about anyone else. None of their girlfriends have ever been happy with them. They're too busy looking at their reflections to give you any attention."
"True."
We kinda just sat around and watched the stars appear after that. Talking to Scarlett always made me feel better. We've been good friends ever since we were little kids and sometimes it's nice to just sit together in silence. We stayed up even once the sun slipped off the horizon. We connected the dots and when it got cold she leaned up against for me for body heat. If anyone saw us, they would probably think we were a couple, but I wouldn't care. Scarlett was keeping me warm to, plus I left my jacket in the car and I was too lazy to go down and get it.

I'm not usually into this author note thing, but I really should apoligize. I've been a big jerk for not posting and telling you excuses is even worse. So, I'm seriously sorry to those of you who actually like to read this, no one probably reads it anymore anyway, so what am I saying? ANYWAY, sorry. I'm gonna try to muster up enough will power to finish this book, becuase I want to start a new story that I've been thinking about for months now and I want to work on that collab book with you guys. You can check my conversation for details on that.... I plan to add an actually new chapter during this weekend, probably Sunday.
