Nightmare groaned, an ache throbbing through his head painfully. He sat up a bit, squinting slightly.

He rubbed the back of his skull and noticed his bones were covered in goop again, which gave him some comfort. He was suddenly aware of something pressing against his forehead and glanced up to the best of his abilities.

He could see the top of one of his tentacles, pressing against a spot where the pain was the worse. Then his tentacles swarmed him, knocking him back down.

"Hey!" He snapped as he felt the wriggling appendages coil around his bones. "Yeah, whatever, I missed you too."

He scowled and struggled to get up before his knee buckled. He hissed as he hit the floor, wincing a bit. His tentacles softened his fall, of course, but it still was quite annoying.

He sighed and leaned his head back. He suddenly had an idea.

He closed his eye and focused, going still. Error.. he thought. He kept thinking of Error. His non-existent brows furrowed and he frowned. Error.

He smiled as he heard soft glitching. He could hear Error now. He had connected, which meant now he could communicate with him. Though it would be one-sided, of course, but it would work.

Error? He called in his mind softly, not wishing to startle him into crashing.

He could hear a glitchy, muffled reply. Error had heard him.

Listen, I'm stuck in some weird AU. Think it's where the Star Shits keep their base. I need you to find my code in there and get me back to my palace. Hope you don't fuck up, thanks.

He then cut off the connection. His head hurt even more now, but at least he could get home.

Nightmare was waiting, leaning against a rock that laid by a lake. He was too weak and tired to go drink anything, and the water didn't look too clean either way. He perked up at the sound of glitching.

"Get your ass in here." Error's voice said sharply. Nightmare looked over. Error was standing in a glitchy portal, clearly impatient.

Nightmare stood up and walked through the portal, sighing. He felt the familiar chill of his palace as the portal shut.

"Thank you, Error." Nightmare hummed, smiling slightly. Error simply gave a curt nod then disappeared, grumbling about he was with someone.

He walked down the hall, the ache in his head slowly fading. He suddenly heard multiple loud, swift footsteps before Horror, Cross, Dust, and Killer all dove around the corner at him, knocking him down in a flurry of arms, legs, and tentacles.

Nightmare was startled as he felt all of them hug him tightly. He then hugged back, blinking slowly.

Then the questions came flooding in.

"Where were you?"

"Error said you had been kidnapped!"

"Are you hurt?!"

Nightmare could make out a few questions, yet before any more questions could be tossed his way, his tentacles forced them all away.

"Alright, alright! Give me a second-- I want to get out of these clothes first, give me a second." Nightmare scoffed, standing up.

"Boss-- y-your skull---" Cross stammered. A hushed silence fell over them all as Nightmare stood there, blinking.

He gently touched his skull in confusion. "Is something---" He felt his hand slip into a hole and a sinking pit formed in his soul. "--..wrong.."

His skull has been cracked mostly open.

How hadn't he felt it? His vision seemed to swim. How? How did it happen?

His eyelid drooped.

"Boss!" Someone yelled as his knees buckled and he heard footsteps hurry over.

And then, yet again, it was black.

~~~
Nightmare fainting/being knocked out is my way to make a random ending when I have no idea what to do exactly lol
Next chapter will have more of the ship, promise-
But this time he had a reason to faint- it's not everyday you lose like half your skull afterall lmao
