"Welcome to the Goth Grand Hotel!" Said the desk attendant. I turn around to look at her.
"This lobby is very nicely decorated. Oh- is this a new hotel by any chance? I don't remember seeing it in this area." I asked. "Or hearing about it.." I thought.
"Thank you. I just began working here recently but this hotel has been here for many years. May I ask where you are from? You don't seem familiar.." she asked in return.
"Hm?" I responded, quite confused to what she meant.
"Ah, sorry. Nevermind that then. How can I help you?" She gave a kind smile.
"I'd like a room please. Just for a while until I can figure out where to move. So just 7 days." I answered.
"Okay then! That will be 7,000 mora." She replied.
"M-mora? 7000??" I asked, wondering what she meant.
"Do you not know what mora is?" She tilted her head a little.
"Not at all." I responded.
"It's currency. Everyone in Teyvat uses it. Are you not from this world? Or possibly just unknowing of mora?" She said.
"I-" I started. "I'm sorry, I'm very confused about the entire situation here.." I finished.
"Hmm.. perhaps you can go ask the librarian, Lisa. She should be able to explain and figure everything out. I can leave your bags here in the meantime. We can keep them behind the desk." She advised.
"Thank you!" I exclaimed. I opened the front door once again, but somehow, it wasn't in the same town or even world I was in before! It's like it had teleported from the city where I was from to this strange yet incredible and gorgeous city. I ran outside and around the city like a child being released into the playground. As I looked around, I noticed gardens, vines, windmills and tall beautiful buildings. There were bards and benches, taverns and people! I felt happier than ever in this place even though I was only here for a few minutes. I ran over to some railings that I saw, and looked out into the city. It was all like a dream. And suddenly, I didn't want to go back. I had a thought that maybe I could stay here instead. I backed away from the railing and continued to think about what it would be like. Just then, I bumped into something or someone. I turned around and looked to notice a person sitting on the ground behind me. "Ah I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to. I should look where I walk." I apologized and put out my hand for him to stand up. It was a young boy in colorful blue-green shades.
"It's alright! Really. Don't worry about it, ehe!" He said, taking my hand and hopping up. "I'm Venti. Venti the bard! The third time winner of 'The Most Popular Bard of Mondstadt' to be precise. " He smiled happily.
"I'm Y/N." I said back in response.
"Well then, nice to meet you, Y/N!" He exclaimed, shaking my hand. Suddenly I remembered I was supposed to find the librarian, 'Lisa'. "Nice to meet you too, Venti." I answered back, shaking his hand in return. Something about him seemed familiar.. I just couldn't remember what. "That reminds me... Do you happen to know where a librarian named 'Lisa' is?" I asked Venti.
"Sure! I can bring you to her." He paused for a moment. "You seem to be new, would you like me to be your friendly tour guide?" He asked, looking quite excited.
"That sounds great! Thanks" I smiled brightly. He took my hand and guided me to a large building on one of the higher grounds.
"This is the nights of Favonius headquarters. They are the peacekeepers of Mondstadt!" He told me, leading me into the building. "Lisa is in the library, which is just through here." He said, proceeding to pull me into the room. There were two levels to it, and it was full of books (it's a library, obviously it has books) and scrolls. There were tables and chairs on the bottom level. In a small corner on the top level of the library, there was a large wooden desk with a big thick book that read "Library Rules - Seventh Edition". Behind the desk there was a woman in purple clothes, and behind her was a small window. The woman's eyes were fixed outside on the scenery of the mix of buildings and greenery outside the window.
