The Last Memory of Life

Destruction and despair taint an earth ruled by chaos
A lone survivor dances under the last moonlight

Regret plays in the strings of her now human heart
Finally free of the binds formed by wired machines

Water once so pure flowed and gave life to all
Now it is the poison humans drink to survive but not live

Trees the giants and remains of the Earth's older days
Now are just rumours on the edges of fleeting fables

Air so precious was the start of a brand new life
Now it is the very gas which will end us all

Family the pillar of one's strength and will
Now only bones and memories to be remembered

Love was the favoured domain of the beautiful Aphrodite
Now she is dead and her twin Hate will forever reign

So many things we took for being just there
Now nothing remains amidst the rubbles of chaos

Rise and realise what is around, those of today
The lone survivor breaths the last breath of the world
