A soft shift in his lap made Jason glance down, just in time to see Stella stirring. She let out a quiet, disoriented sigh, her lashes fluttering before she blinked herself awake.

Her brows knitted in confusion. Her gaze flickered to her surroundings, then to him-then to herself, still curled up in his lap.

He could practically see the gears in her head screeching.

There was a long pause. Then, very slowly, her hands pressed against his chest as if testing reality itself. Her breath hitched. Her face, already warm from sleep, flushed deeper.

"How-" she whispered, staring at him like he was some hallucination.

Jason simply raised a brow, watching, waiting. He could already tell where this was going.

Stella straightened in an instant-only to freeze. Her eyes widened. Something was missing. Something important.

And then, like a thunderclap-

"You drugged me!"

Jason sighed. "I wouldn't put it like this..."

"You drugged me!" she repeated, voice rising an octave as she scrambled off his lap, her movements a mess of flailing limbs and pure betrayal. "You-" she gestured wildly between them, as if trying to physically connect the dots, "Why was I-" her hands flew to her own face, horror dawning on her.

Jason shrugged, unbothered. "Seemed like you were enjoying yourself."

Stella let out a strangled sound-something between a gasp and a scream, as if sheer indignation was trying to escape her soul. "I missed an entire lecture because of you!"

Jason, still seated, rested an elbow on the armrest, watching her spiral with barely concealed amusement. "Tragic...you missed a lecture. I'm sure the world will never recover."

She pointed a finger at him. "Don't."

Jason waited patiently.

She inhaled sharply, steadying herself. Then, in a dramatic spin, she stomped toward the exit, muttering, "I'm going to eat before I actually commit a crime."

Jason finally stood, stretching slightly before following her, his voice entirely too casual. "Glad to see the elixir worked."

She whipped around to glare at him. "You are the worst."

Jason chuckled under his breath, shaking his head. He couldn't deny it-there was something undeniably endearing about her, even in the midst of all her frustration.

Stella hurried through the hall, her footsteps quick and sharp, the sound of her frustration echoing in the air. Jason followed closely behind, a grin playing at the edge of his lips, thoroughly entertained by her irritated stomping.

As she reached the door of the dining hall, she paused and shot him a glare, a look that could've sent someone running for cover. It was as if she was silently warning him not to annoy her further. With one last pointed look, she entered the hall, making her way to the table, her anger practically radiating from her.

Jason couldn't help but laugh softly under his breath, amused by how easily he had managed to get under her skin. He followed her inside, weaving through the crowd with an easy confidence. He made his way towards the blaze table, where his friends and teammates were already gathered. A few casual fist bumps exchanged, a quick nod to acknowledge his presence, and he took a seat, eyes still glancing over at Stella.

Stella, meanwhile, was fuming, her gaze locked on Jason from across the room. She glared at him, her fury simmering just below the surface. He's enjoying this, she thought, as she seethed at the mere sight of him so casually settling into his seat like everything was perfectly fine.
