Third Person POV:

Zenitsu was climbing up the mountain as Kanao was sleeping soundly on his back. As he walked back, his mind was filled with many thoughts, like reasons why he could never be allowed happiness.

He was convinced that he was a cursed being who stole the happiness of others who deserved it. After all, if he had never been adopted by those of the house Raijin, they may have still been alive and happy, and Kanao could've been living happily and growing up under a blue, sunny sky.

However, halfway up the mountain, Kanao began to wake up. Zenitsu decided to stop thinking so negatively. He should only focus on his primary objective, which was turning his imouto back to a human. She held a dear place in his heart, and he would stop at nothing until she was human again.

In another couple of minutes, Kanao had completely woken up and they had reached their house that had once been full of liveliness and laughter. Zenitsu stopped carrying Kanao and placed her down on the ground, gently on her feet.

They headed inside. Zenitsu closed his eyes to avoid seeing the painful sight. The horribly mangled bodies of his family were still at the scene, and blood still splattered the walls and floor.

Kanao turned towards Zenitsu, and she attempted to ask him what he was doing next. Her voice was muffled by the bamboo in her mouth, but Zenitsu heard and understood her question and he told her, "Kanao, please wear your kimono and a haori, we have to leave." Kanao nodded, before tilting her head towards the bodies of their family.

She wondered if Zenitsu was going to bury them. Zenitsu replied to her unspoken question in a low mutter. "While you are changing, I will bring their bodies out, and we'll bury them together."

Kanao nodded and went inside the bloodstained house for the last time. As Kanao went inside to change her clothes, Zenitsu began to dig the graves.

When he was done digging the graves, he began to place the mutilated bodies of his family in their graves, crying as he reminisced the time he had spent with all of them. Kanao came out of the house as he covered up the graves and prayed for their safe journey to heaven.

Tears were running down his cheeks as he was barely holding back his screams and sobs. Suddenly Zenitsu felt someone cold hugging him from behind. He concentrated and listened and understood it was Kanao.

He turned around and saw that Kanao had an emotionless expression, but tears were running out of her eyes as well. Zenitsu returned the hug and both siblings hugged before separating and bidding farewell to their home.

Kanao POV:

Just as we were beginning to walk down the mountain, a hazy memory arose in my mind. I remembered something very important, although the memory was quite blurry. The haoris of our oto-san and our okaa-san were still in the house.

I turned around and bolted back towards the house. Zenitsu was surprised by my actions and began to catch up with me, calling out, "Kanao! Don't go that way, the sun's coming out soon!"

I entered the house and ran into our parents room. It was the only room without blood... As Zenitsu entered the room, I found the haoris and turned around to show them to Zenitsu.

He looked surprised for a moment, before he asked me, "Are these oto-san's and okaa-san's haori?" I nodded, before getting fed up with the bamboo restricting my mouth and reached up to it, ripping it off.

Zenitsu looked as if he knew I was going to do this (he probably did, thanks to his godly hearing). I responded to his earlier question "Y-yes they are." It was hard to speak since I hadn't used my voice since the night before...
