Zenitsu POV:

I was confused by what the man named Sora-san was saying.

A proposal? For me and Kanao? What could he possibly mean?

I was confused by what he meant so I decided on asking him a question that highlighted my suspicions.

"What do you mean by a 'proposal' for me and my imouto?"

Kanao, who was standing behind me, also asked a question.

"How do we know that you are not just some thug trying to take advantage of us because we are young?"

The man seemed as if he was expecting these questions and had answers ready from the start, because his sound was one of confidence as he instantly replied, "My proposal for you two, was that I adopt you two to become part of my family and live with my family. As for me not trying to take advantage of you two, you have my word, that I have no intention of deceiving you."

It was quite strange. I could hear the sound that Sora-san made, and there was no change in it that indicated a lie.

Kanao moved closer towards me, before holding my hand and asking me in a hushed voice, "Is Sora~san lying onii-chan?"

I looked towards Kanao before whispering back, "No, he is telling the truth."

I then turned my attention towards Sora-san who was patiently waiting for our response.

I decided to ask him another question.

"Why would you bother taking in two street-rats like us? Surely it's a waste of your time and resources just to take us in if you have a whole family to feed."

Sora-san quickly gave us a confident reply, saying "My children and wife have always wanted an elder sister and an elder brother, you two fit the bill perfectly.

Also I know and can tell that you both are good and kind hearted children, after all, only those who are kind would go out of their way to protect someone else, and provide them with money."

I was shocked, how did he know about that?

Then, suddenly I heard Kanao's sound change into one of worry and slight indignation.

I slowly turned around towards her to try and justify my actions, but she simply hugged me and said "No matter how many times I tell you, you simply can't stop helping others onii-chan."

"I want you to promise me then, that you will be careful, so a repeat of that day 3 years ago doesn't occur." she finished, sighing with annoyance.

I softly chuckled before stroking her hair and responding "Fine Kanao, I promise to be careful."

Then I heard Sora-san's sound and it sounded happy and content.

I decided that Sora-san was a good person, but I still needed a bit more time to think about this decision, and after all, it would change our lives if we were to accept it.

So I separated from my embrace with Kanao and told the waiting man, "Sora-san, I wish to have a bit more time to think about my decision and so I will tell you our decision tomorrow, here at the same time as it is now."

Sora-san seemed pleased with my answer and replied "I understand, after all, this is a life-changing decision. I shall wait for your reply until tomorrow. I will meet you in the market and accompany you here tomorrow."

I nodded and Kanao smiled, and said "Until tomorrow then Sora-san."

Sora-san smiled back before saying goodbye and leaving down the dirt road. I definitely must think my decision through before replying yes or no.
