TW FOR MURDER AND BLOOD
"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
kuroo's chill demeanor had completely washed away, and (y/n) found herself face to face with a tall, angry volleyball player who could crush her if he wanted to. (without her stick that is, but she was prepared and had the toy hidden in her overnight bag)
"he was talking about me. i don't let people insult my appearance without letting them pay the price.", (y/n) huffed as she tried to gaze anywhere except for kuroo, yet his wide frame managed to take up all of her vision.
kuroo sighed in frustration, placing his face in his hands as he groaned loudly. "people talk about you all the time, why would you let this one time be what makes you try to beat someone up?!"
(y/n) knew other students talked about her. and the students knew she could hear each cruel word that slipped from their tongues. nobody dared to say anything nice, and she never dared to tell them to shut up. but hearing it from kuroo, the captain who was told to be the sweetest person around despite his intimidating outward appearance broke something in her. she didn't let it show on her face, but the thought that even the nicest person she knew (besides asagiri, nobody could beat how kind she was) knew that she was suffering and didn't even bother to do anything? to tell the bullies to go away for just a moment? his words would probably only keep them away for the rest of the day, and the routine would continue the day after, but just thinking that the saint himself could extend his kindness to her...
'maybe i'm not a monster after all...'
"are you even listening to me?", kuroo's harsh voice broke through her thoughts. "of course you wouldn't care, you never wanted to join this club in the first place..."
(y/n) eyes finally managed to meet kuroo's, and she could see every ounce of anger, confusion.... regret, he had in that moment. something in her broke again. she felt her heart slowly chip away, and she felt every bit of her soul ooze through the cracks.
"just stay the hell away from me.", was all she said before she pushed past him and ran out of the gym and away to the closest empty area so she could be alone.
"way to go, kuroo. you broke her.", was all kenma said.
(y/n)'s mother was staring into the eyes of her father. not a single word was said between either of them. in her hands was a bloody butcher knife, and on the side of her lied the cut up chunks of the co-worker her father had cheated on her with. not a word was said. the line of blood leading from the door to the living room was all she could focus on. her eyes couldn't meet anyone's. her father's hands shook as he held the phone in his hand, ready to call the police.
"why... why would you do this..."
the blood slowly dripped from the knife and made a sound every time a drop would hit the hardwood floors. her mother swallowed thickly before responding,
"i hate the way that you look at me with eyes full of nothing but regret."
